GT
UGA: QB Aaron Murray---Tony Dungy just said recently that he would take Murray with the #1 pick in this year's draft. Murray is a junior---however, he can declare especially if he is assured of a top ten pick. This kid has a quick, tight release---reminds me a little of Drew Brees.

3:00 PM (EST) ESPN3

BC
NCST: QB Mike Glennon---many scouts have their eye on him---he has all the measurables: height, arm strength, productivity---kind of streaky. Comparison: Joe Flacco.

If you watch this game---let me know what you think of BC's QB Chase Rettig---a junior who, imo, has the best arm I've seen at BC in years. He's had a pretty good year, despite the record and porous BC defense.

3:30 PM (EST)

FLA
FSU---QB EJ Manuel could start to rise up the QB ratings with a big performance today. This 5 star recruit is having an outstanding season and has the size 6'5" 240 and effortless throwing motion scouts like.

OKST
OKLA: QB Landry Jones---once thought to be a sure top ten pick, has faltered some. Good size and arm---some question his instincts and decision making.

7:00 PM (EST)

SCAR
CLEM: QB Tajh Boyd---with Russell Wilson playing as well as he is, Boyd will be looked at very closely. Dynamic player. A junior---but could opt to declare.

Mitch, I watched Tyler Wilson yesterday and he appears to be a leader and have nice touch on his throws. Someone said he was smart too. Not sure I agree with this one. I thought it was kind of funny they were talking about his smartness and then flashed up a 2.8 GPA (< B) in recreational something or another. wow. really? It was a bit amusing. Maybe down in Ark. that is great? :)

Anyhow, I'm not sure he's got the instincts and smarts combo? I def. have mixed feelings on this prospect. Maybe if we do the opposite of what we normally would do we'd end up with a great QB? We could pull the George Castanza and do the polar opposite on everything. :)

1-If Tony Dungy took Aaron Murray #1, he would be an idiot. Murray has some tools, but he is nothing more than a mid round prospect at best.

Mike Glennon-Good size, a bit too much like John Skelton if you ask me. He just misses too often to be a non-project QB.

SLEEPER: A guy who I like and has fallen off the national radar is Landry Jones. He has holes in his game, but he also has a bunch of physical skill which you can build on. A team looking to develop a QB could do worse than him in the 2nd or 3rd rounds.

If you're a podcast person, and you're not listening to the SI Podcast with Peter King, you're missing out. King had on the SI college writer to discuss QBs this week It's worth a listen.

What the expert said in a nutshell is that the guys that are rising up draft boards are Mike Glennon and Ryan Nassib. Why?

Glennon was being coached by Tom O'Brien, who developed some pretty good players during his time at B.C.--NFL scouts believe that O'Brien knows the QB position in a pro-style offense. O'Brien allowed a pretty good QB in Russell Wilson to leave the program because he wanted to have two years with Glennon.

Ryan Nassib has been working with a pretty good coach in Doug Marrone, who worked with Drew Brees and the Saints from 2006-2008. He's maddeningly inconsistent, but could be an interesting 3rd round choice for the Cards.

Is O'Brien responsible for Matt Room Temperature Ryan? :)

Yes, and you know you would savor Ryan over the current crop on the Cards. :D

Nassib rising.
Glenning rising.

Murray is Andy Dalton.(except for the hair).

I like Rettig from BC. Just a good player on a lousy team. Check out his WR target, Jr. eligible Alex Amidon, who just made 1st team ACC.

Are you talking about The Mattural? :)

How excited must Vegas be to gamble against Matt Ryan in the Divisional Round? He's going to get a bye week and be favored by 3.5 points whenever the Giants, Seahawks, or Bears come to town.

They're going to eat him alive.

I cannot wait for that game. How does ATL look so mediocre against the Cards, Saints and Bucs three weeks in a row?

don't forget barely beating Oakland and Carolina and Dallas at home as well.

this team MAY win one playoff game if they get the right matchup, but if they have to play the Giants/GB, I have a feeling they gonna get pummeled.

The thing I don't like about Murray is Georgia, for being in the SEC, played a very weak schedule. The only good teams they played were Florida and South Carolina. In both of those games, Murray struggled mightily. Against S.Carolina he was 11 of 31 for 109 yds and O TD's and 1 int. Against Florida, he was 12 of 24 for 150 yds with 1 TD and 3 int.

That has kind of been him M.O. throughout college. He has struggled against good competition. Let's just hope Tony Dungy never becomes Cards GM.

My top 3 are: Wilson, Nassib, Jones/Bray.

If Boyd was 6'3- 6'4, you'd be looking at a top 5 pick. Instead he may be more like Troy Smith. I agree that Russell Wilson's perceived success, a kind word because I think he's not that good and holding them back, may get him drafted higher than he should be.

EJ Manuel played his first good defense against Florida and immediately reverted back to the guy I remember seeing the past couple years, which is not very good. I think he had 3 picks and a fumble in the loss.

They said the same thing about the Cards in 2008. K9 I got a feeling the Falcs win at least 2playoffs games this year...nobody still respects them!

And dont forget that early season ass kicking they were laying on Manning and the Broncos, thanks to 4 picks in what, the 1st quarter alone? ANd they BARELY held on.

ATL is a paper tiger.

Ive scouted all of these guys.

Aaron Murray - Im interested in him more than I like him. I feel like he might be the next Andy Dalton where hes better in the NFL than he projected in college. He has the best chance to actually become a starter someday.

EJ - This guys decision making is Skelton level smashed together with a pinch of Dwreck Anderson. I dont like one thing about him. Hes also injury prone.

Glennon - He doesnt have 'It'. Hes got a big arm, but so do millions of guys who arent in the NFL. Hes not very good, bottom line.

Landry Jones - Take EJs decision making and make it 100x more inconsistent. Has great games, and then complete abortions. Theres no room for that in the NFL. Several times this year, hes put up performances that youd only see from a freshman in his first game. Very troubling.

Tajh Boyd - I like TB. Not to be my starter, but maybe as a backup. Guys scrappy. His size doesnt bother me. His inconsistency does. Hes so up and down. Somedays hes Geno Smith, looking like the best QB in college FB. The next day he just disappears.

Tyler Wilson - He gets injured more often than Id like. And iwth our Oline, that doesnt bode well. Most of his bad decision making comes under duress. Hes the opposite of Manziel in that regard. I dont like him.

Geno Smith - Hes the antithesis of Leinart. ML, whos incapable of throwing over 4 yards, GS is incapable of throwing under 15. Guys a major home run threat, but wont give you many singles. Hes got one of the most accurate deep balls Ive ever seen, NFL or College. I really like him, but I question his ability on the next level. You cant just sling it everydown. You need to make reads. I think hes too Favre like in his desire to put up 90 ppg. That creates alot of turnover opportunities for the D in the NFL.

Future- Manziel- The hype is real. Johnny Football is the next great one. Hes extremely accurate. Hes a major scramble threat. His game elevates when hes under pressure. Hes hard to take down. His decision making is outstanding. Good arm. Good character. I would gladly tank a season to have a shot at him. 1 final bad season for 15 amazing ones full of possible Superbowls. Worth it.

I have watched Smith now for 4 years, and while he has some warts, throwing every pass isnt one of them. 80% of his throws in Holgersons offense are under 15 yards. He can make every single throw and then some.

He is completly responsible for reading the defense and changing plays, changing wr routes, changing line protections, etc. He has no problem reading defenses at the college level. And I doubt he will in the pros either. Very smart kid with high IQ and work ethic. To me he is head-and-shoulders above everyone in the draft at QB.....

Warts? he struggled this year when teams threw 8-9 guys at him and he had no threat of a running game. But keep in mind when I say 'struggled' his comp percetage went from 80% to 60%, and td-int ratio went fromm 10-1 to 3-1. Right now he has 38 td's and 5 ints on the season.

I like Murray. Of course, I haven't watched Tyler Wilson at all. But Murray reminds me of Brees when he was at Purdue.

Like K9 mentioned in a post, you have to look at the whole body of work from a QB in college to get a good idea. Flipping on the games now and looking at the QBs will not give you a full indication or accurate judgement. I like what I have seen of Wilson as a whole, meaning I think he can be a franchise starting QB from his tenure in college. Do not know if he will be great, I have no idea but I think there is a good chance he can fill the position for a team. I hope its the Cardinals personally.

I propose we ban the term "Johnny football" from here on out. I already can't stand it.
