I don't know if it's the spread, bad defenses, or what, but this is about the best QB play I have ever seen in college football. If you don't watch the Big 10, you are likely going to see a very good QB in action. Just look at the list of QB's who, to me, look like guys who can legitately play in the NFL.
Teddy Bridgewater
Taj Boyd
Brett Hundley
Derek Carr
Hogan, the kid from Stanford
Manziel
Mariota
McCarron
Jameis Winston
Stephen Morris
Murray
Mettenberg
Even a guy like Keith Price from Washington looks good.

Then you have guys like Petty and Fales that I haven't seen. And, I'm sure there some under the radar guys and young, up coming guys that I haven't heard of or seen yet.

I just know the QB play has been tremendous in college this year.

I think derek carr is having huge season, good arm good vision and seems always to take the right decision..the only think that could drop him is comparison with his brother and his bust career.

I'm with you CBus. This is going to be one GREAT draft for QBs. If we don't land one this next draft, I have no idea when we might ever do it.

My fear is we go 8-8 or 7-9, and decide to stick with Palmer and neglect to draft a QB early.

He didn't play today, but Sean Mannion belongs on any list of top QBs. Seems like he fits the Arians mold as well.

I'm really liking Zach Mettenberger out of LSU. His game has improved a lot since working with former NFL OC Cam Cameron. Most likely 2nd-3rd round.

Very high on Bridgewater/Hundley and low on Boyd/Mariota. If a big-armed guy like Mettenburger is available at our 2nd round selection I can see BA pulling the trigger.

With the amount of bad teams this year I think we'll be picking in the early-teens...

The Gilbert dude (SMU) almost pulled the Rutgers game out of his butt yesterday and is being coached by June Jones. Pretty impressive.

I still don't know what I think of Bridgewater. Just not fully on board with him

Me neither, but I know what to think of him. Too much flash, not enough substance.

Love the Baylor QB, Bryce Petty, 4 games into his career. .

I'm still on board with Johnny Football so far. I am home the the next three weeks so I can get a good look at some of the Qbs on your list. I still have not seen Teddy Bridgewater and so far he has the most hype that I have seen. I have watched Boyd and I'm not that impressed with him.

What about Taylor Kelly from ASU? He has some tools, slippery runner and fairly accurate.

Our QBOF has second or third round pick written all over him. LT and OLB in rounds 1-3. JMUO.

I agree. As deep as this QB class is, we need to address LT or a speed rusher in the 1st round. But we definitely need to draft a QB relatively early.

He's freaking terrible Jeff...signed a Texas fan!

I've seen him play many many games & he's about as accurate as Skelton! Thrust me, he blows

I hope I'm wrong, but I get a feeling we won't draft any of those QBs in the first 3 rounds. I think those picks are reserved for a LT & LBs:bang:

Given BAs age I don't think he's into grooming a young QB & the possible losing that goes with him as a HC

Agree.

But if we would have signed or traded for one of the quality LT's that were available then we could eliminate LT as priority giving us more options.

He has really turned into a great college QB. I will always root for him. But I worry about his size. I think it would be like Max Hall out there. He is too small to play in the NFL in my opinion. He has some real touch on the mid-range pass. He is really good at hitting receivers accurately, in stride.

Also he plays his best football when the Devils are up and playing soft opponents. Then he has trouble against some of the ranked opponents. His splits away from home and also against ranked teams is not very good. He is only a Junior, so me he can turn it around a become a clutch performer.

This is my take on Manziel however with the rules coming down hard to protect QB's, he just may be an NFL QB. However, he reminds me too much of Flutie. Flutie had a million dollar arm and heart too but he was just too small to be a NFL QB.

There are several college QBs I enjoy watching that I am not sure how well they would transition to the NFL game.

Fajardo out of Nevada is one of those guys.

And Carr is very impressive in Fresno. He is consistently putting up 400 yards and 4tds a game. Its too bad their defense isn't very good.

Nothing more important than QB. Nothing. You don't pass on a guy who you think is the man because the position has depth.

agreed.

while I was in Phoenix, it really bothered me listening to the radio where our local guys who consistently talking about how the Cards brass really believed they need to go LT or Pass Rusher in the first round.

if there's a franchise QB available and we go for a 2nd or 3rd ranked T or Pass Rusher, I'll...be not surprised?

I could see Arians being intrigued with A.J. McCarron from Alabama. Not only does he have a very high football-IQ, a lot of starts in college and is a proven winner, all things every coach would like. He is also very good at throwing the deep ball, he is good at third down-conversions and in the red zone and this season he has shown that he can deliver while under pressure. I’m not sure if he is first round material, I just think he fits the offense pretty well and that Arians will like his game.

Of course, if he is drafted Arians might want to sit down with him and Dockett to talk about McCarron’s girlfriend and Dockett’s Twitter-use.
