People are putting way too much into Max Hall. The guy didn't even play last week and played 1 1/2 quarters against backups in week 2 and there's talk he should be kept over DA :doi:. He still didn't complete 50% of his passes and threw a unbelievably bad INT. Let's just give him the starting nod :bang:. If somebody claims Max Hall on waivers, who really cares. If he's that good he'll never seen waivers, which I seriously doubt is the case.

I'd be willing to bet the Cards long range plan is to have ML start this year. If he excels, great. If he struggles then DA gets the nod. Skelton is the #3. Come next year, I don't think both DA and ML will be on the team. However it plays out this year, the other will be gone and Skelton will be the #2 and being groomed to take over. Plans change, but right now I don't think the Cards look at Hall other than PS material this year and possibly a #3 next year.

Im hoping the plans are for skelton to learn the offense and be ready to go next year because he will be the only QB to return next year and i dont want to see another run like the early 2000's with the wave of old washed up QB's.

there is the wild card of the cuts, there might be some quality QB's cut this year.
I personally think you need a top 10 starter to upgrade Matt over the next 10 years,
Matt has skills we aint even seen yet.

Matt is the starter.

Anderson has experience. No way they don't keep him.

After sending McFadden to Pitt in order to select Skelton, he is a lock to make the team.

Hall may be put on the PS.

This is the way it will play out. ML will start a few games before he's pulled. Then DA will finish the season. But there is no way the light will finally come on for ML even with all the money waiting for him if he's average this season. When he came onto the field you could see it in his demeanor. His mouth was wide open and he had that deer in the headlights look. Watch the game again and tell me I'm wrong. I knew it was going to be a long game when I saw that. He hasn't shown anything since he's been here and now for doing absolutely nothing stands to make a ton of bucks for what? It's time (over due) for damage control now. It's going tobe a longseason folks. Might as well statr the rook.

Watched a Ravens game the other night and Marc Bulger looked decent and had a nice touch on the ball.

Just saying ....

True.

That's why I threw in the just saying at the end. Quite a few here wanted us to wait for him to be released and sign him instead of DA.
He probably would have been a better choice than DA. In fact, if DA and Leinart stink it up this year, i could see him on the Cards next year. I'm assuming he's on a 1 year deal in B'more.

I think this is the real reason we are seeing so much of Anderson. It's going to cost us way too much to keep a weak armed mediocre QB in the fold after this season. I think Matt has outplayed Derek so far (by a fair margin) but because of Matt's contract bonus, Whiz wants Derek to earn the starter spot. If the O-Line comes together, I believe Matt can get it done but I don't think anyone in coaching or management considers him more than a one year possibility and Skelton might need a little more time than that to get there.

Steve

Matt has outplayed Derek by a fair margin? Don't think so. Whiz will play who gives us the best chance to win. He doesn't give a rats arse about Matt's bonus.

I can McNabb in a Cards uni if that plays out.

Anderson is due $3M, so no way in hell he gets cut.

The only rational argument here is Hall vs Skelton.

Whereas Matt has excellent touch on his passes, and a better ability to read defenses?

Neither one of these guys will be much more than we've already seen through out their careers. With that said, Anderson brings more to the table than Leinart.

If we are looking at just these two tum-tum's as one, or the other, being the future of the franchise...my money's on Anderson. The more reps he gets now to establish a better rapport, and improve his timing, with our receivers the better off the cards will be this season.

However, in my opinion, it's really a moot point. The success of the passing game rests solely on the backs of Wells, Hightower, and the five meatheads up front. If we are unable to run the ball effectively, coming out of the gate to start the season, it'll be a quick return to the Denny Green days (ie. 8 in the box for any down of less than 12 yards).

I kinda agree with this in that neither Matt or DA are the future of this team. I just don't know what Matt brings to the table. He's not the guy with the big arm... he's not the guy with brain/accuracy/ability to read defenses... he's not the guy with a big swinging dick who oozes confidence. So what the heck is he? He's YEARS removed from being a winner, every time he came in last year he looked either awful or mediocre at best and from all reports from Kent Somers, he's looked like he's just playing not to lose so far in camp and that's what he's looked like so far in the pre-season. I just don't know what exactly Matt brings to the table. His play and his demeanor on and off the field just scream STIFF to me and if you remember, I was a HUGE Matt jocker for years, thinking he was the next Joe Montana when we drafted to him to railing for months that he needed to start over Warner.

My call? (and I PRAY I'm wrong) Matt starts the first four games, the offense is woeful, we go 1-3, DA gets in there, doesn't do much better and by the end of the season we start working in Skelton to see if he's got any shot heading into next year.
