Does anyone know how the "bribing" works?

Is it a trade and could involve a player as well as a pick?

Lets say Phoenix had the #1 pick.

Could they bribe Charlotte to take Jahidi and in exchange Phoenix trades Eisley and #1 for #4?

Also another question.

Can you trade for contracts that expire this offseason on draftday?
Or contract with team options?

There's got to be some statute of limitations on when Charlotte would be able to trade and make other transactions as a normal team, rather than an expansion in a draft lottery.

The suns can bribe Charlotte into taking Jahidi from us.

Now, they can trade picks.........but they would have to trade us a player if they take Eisley. Just like any trade.

I think the suns could have them take a player (big) from another team in the draft, and then trade that player to us for Eisley and then trade pics with them. (contract salary match)

However, there has to be something about them having cap space to absorb some contracts in trades. (to get draft picks back) like the suns just did with Utah.

I am not sure about trading players that are not under contract. If there is a team option, they may be able to trade the rights to that player. These players you remember, do not have to be protected for the dispersal draft. So, chances are they will not be signed to a new contract before the draft.

I believe the charlote trades as an expansion team will end with the dispersal draft. After that they are a regular team with players and contracts.

That is why when it comes to the regular draft, They will have to trade players salary for salary like other teams.
(except for the cap space again)

This is what I remember, hope it is right.......?

I think the Phoenix Suns just need to cross their fingers that the end up with one of the top two picks in the lottery. There should be teams anxious to move up if they did, and they might be able to unload a contract with it. If not, it will be because they really like one of the players.

I think players choose whether to execute their options on June first, so it happens before the draft.

The only way for the suns to gain more cap space at this point is the expansion draft I believe.

I am not sure about the trading rules.

I know we can offer them 1 pick, and up to 3million cash to take a player. I am not sure how long they have to wait in order to trade players though.

It doesn't really effect anything though, even if they could trade players, then it wouldn't be any different then dealing with another team. If we trade Eisley, then we have to take back equal salary (or trade him to a team under the cap). SO it could improve future flexibility, but wouldn't do anything for this summer's FA class.
