As I drove around the past two days, I did a little informal observing of cars and trucks that I saw sporting NFL insignias, and this is what I saw:

3 San Diego Chargers, generally on more expensive cars.

4 Pittsburgh Steelers, generally on older, less expensive model cars.

3 Oakland Raiders, on beater trucks, usually with other decals showing something either being pissed on or semi-naked chicks (nttawwt, btw :))

1 New Orleans Saints, on a BMW.

2 Green Bay Packers, w/ one on a work truck license plate holder.

And 1 Cardinal helmet (but this was on my truck, so I'm not sure if it counts)

I haven't caught any crap for years when I wear my gear up here in Washington. The last few years having dominated the Seahawks has been fantastic. Most Hawks fans won't even look at me they are so ashamed of their team. The others are usually very positive towards the Cards.

There are a handful out here in Connecticut, partly since there is a few Arizona transplants out here. I did randomly see a guy with Cards gear on at the gym.

I rarely ever seen anyone else in Memphis sporting Cardinals stuff, the morning before I flew out to Tampa for the Super Bowl I ran in to a couple at breakfast from Tucson who were sporting their Cardinal stuff, thats it. I figure the next one I see here will likely be a member of Dan Williams family.

I wear something Cardinals almost daily. I put my first Arizona Cardinals front plate on my old explorer about 97. It is now on my 01 F150 that I drive everyday. People used to ask me, "You a Cardinals fan"? When I answered yes, they would say "Why"?

Don't get that much anymore. A lot of people now ask me how I think the Cards will do this year. Started about 3 years ago. Some who see me pretty often, ask me if I have season tickets.

I live in Mesa.

OT:

Can someone explain to me why there are so many Tongans in Reno. Two years ago I go down to Austin, Texas to play for a national championship. We end up playing Reno, NV in the semi-final.

Next thing I know, I thought I was Easter Island. Not one of there players was NOT Tongan.

Nothing against the team, they were all a trip and great guys, but seriously. Reno, NV of all places. You would think islanders would avoid the desert.

That's an easy one. Mormons. The Mormons basically have exclusive rights to be missionaries on Tonga and Samoa. Reno is one the way to SLC and has a small population of islanders because of that. Plus the only Rugby played around her is by islanders and girls. Reno is a ski town. It snowed two days ago. Get the idea that we are anything like Vegas as far out of your head as possible. We are Nevadans. Vegas is California in sheeps clothing.

In Alabama it's mainly College football (Alabama, Auburn) but for pro it's mainly Titans or Falcons. I saw a couple sporting Cards gear during playoffs or for the Super Bowl. Not much else though. People comment that they like the Cards but it isn't their team..

Other than the posters on the board mentioned by Shane H earlier (and I think he left off Solar or Solaris or something like that - I think he sits in 218), there is a fan base starting to grow here. I've seen more and more Cards logos showing up on the backs of cars. However, I don't see many of us here in general.

Most represented teams are (in no order): Raiders, 9ers, Cowboys, Bears.

Wow, good memory! You even got my section. But yeah, I'm a Vegas Cardinals season ticket holder, and die-hard fan. I know about four other Cardinals fans here, but I have seen a little more representation in terms of gear. It seems to be picking up though.

Nobody has the first clue what i am wearing to be honest......you guys probably give a little nod to a bloke wearing are Cards shirt much the way i do when i see a Sunderland shirt outside the area. Here for me it tends to be little nod if you just see see someone in any NFL jersey.

The only time i have ever seen Cards jerseys are at the Wembley games. Now using that as a sample i think the number of Card jerseys have been increasing 10 fold since it started. It hepls that the Cards being a playoff team as the sport grows over here again has no doubt helped.

I thought the Cardinals were really popular in Memphis. Oh, wrong sport, wrong Cardinals, never mind.

What's the broadcast coverage like in LV and NM? That tends to be the difference maker. Are the Cardinals on more these days now that it's a better watch?

Thats an awesome question, I should have thrown that in. I know that the team does alot of stuff in Albequerque, atleast they used to.

Like the other New Mexicans have said this area is mostly ruled by Cowboys and Broncos. Since the Cards have been to the Super bowl and the playoffs this past season you see more around.

The cowboys and broncos get most of the air time on the local channels. Followed by probably the steelers. A bunch of NM fans will support whoever wins the super bowl at the time. Not really loyal to a team unless they are doing well.

The days before I started getting Sunday ticket I would be the only one in the sports bar sporting the cardinals colors. I would have to beg to get one small TV with the game on if they were not playing one of the local favorites.

It is nice to see the organization gaining in popularity. It will help them continue to be able to support a competitive team.

Here in Pa. there are probably more than we realize. For example the Dad of one of the girls I coach is a Cardinal fan. I also ran across one at Costco. In such a big Steeler/Eagle area to randomly meet 2 others I think says a lot.

Actually I have a funny story about this. I was at Christmas Mass with my fiancee and her family this past December and tiny tiny Annville Pennsylvania (Small town about 15 miles west of Hershey and 75 miles west of Philly) and I am wearing my Cardinals gloves (which I had purchased 2 days earlier) becsuse of the extreme cold.

Anyway after the service, middle aged lady and mother of 4 comes up to me and says " I noticed your Gloves. Thats my favorite football team as well and I am wearing a Cardinal pin on my sweater because of them"

Made my night. Christmas miracle :)

As for me living here in Florida, I see very little Cardinals gear buts thats understandable because a) people are pretty apathetic about sports here in general and b) those who aren't support the Dolphins or Jets.

I had this idea to buy like 100 Cardinal shirts and give them out to the homeless out here (there are tons in Fort Lauderdale) to give them clothes they would wear and build up the brand recognition for the team among South Floridians.

But then I thought of one of them holding up a store or something and realized the team doesn't need any bad pub.

It will get there though. I know the Super Bowl did wonders for the national recognition and if we continue to contend, slowly and surely it will build.

If Matt ever makes it happen, we will undoubtedly become L.A's adopted team. That would be a nice influx of fans IMHO.

Depending on how long you've been in town there might have been two--I was a Montreal Cardinals fan from '95-'99.

In New York I never see any around, though there are a couple of posters here (thought I even saw one of them was a Habs fan on the Coyotes board). I do have several friends from AZ out here, though, so in the playoffs these last few years we've set NYC attendance records by having several real Cards fans in the same place.

Where you guys watch? Im holding Greenpoint Brooklyn down pretty well. But its lonely!

Nashville doesn't care about the Cards either way. Most wanted them in the Super Bowl though. Lots of Steeler hate.

Here in Oklahoma I've only seen 1 guy wearing a Cards shirt. Most people are Cowpuke fans here. It's kinda lonely.......

Out where I am in CT there is an almost even split between the Pats and Giants. Jet fans come in a distant third with everyone else making up the difference. I would say the Steelers are fourth though. I saw a guy wearing a Tillman shirt at Six Flags New England last year and just the other day I saw a guy with a Cards license plate frame.

I have three brothers though and we all grew up liking different teams. One brother grew up a Jets fan, the other a 9ers (lost my first bet to him in the '85 Super Bowl when I was 6)fan and the last one a Steelers fan. The only thing we have in common when it comes to football is our strong dislike of the Patriots.

Here in Columbus it's mostly Browns fans followed closely by Pittsburgh and Cincy. I don't know of any other Cardinals fans around here. I always get asked, how did you become a Cardinals fan? The bad thing about the fan base here is that i'm around the two most obnoxious groups, Pittsburgh and OSU.
