* I have only watched the game once. So there are guys that I didn't see, or didn't do to much. Feel free to fill in the blanks.

Offense:

Quarterback:

Kurt Warner - Looked really good. Missed a few by inches that he will make in the regular season. Played well enough to get defensive coordinators sweating.

Matt Leinart - stumbled out of the blocks, calmed down, and looked pretty good. He throws a lot like Joe Montana, who used to say he throws baloons at darts. Once in a rythm, he was accurate and played well.

Brian St.Pierre - Didn't look very good, and looked nervous. Threw a bad INT, and missed a few pass.

Tyler Palko - The kid was a gamer, at least for this first game. Competed very well, and commanded the offense well. Threw a couple nice balls. Made a case for Brian St. Pierre's job.

Runningback:

Chris Wells - DNP, Hurt :(

Tim Hightower - Looked a little quicker, and ran with more confindence. So, far he looks a little better than last year.

Jason Wright - Lived up to his scout report. Very average runner, but blocks very well. Didn't see to much from him on Special teams tho.

LaRod Stephens-Howling - Showed he has some quickness, and some good moves. Nice burst as well. Made a case for himself to make the final 53.

Chris Vincent - Didn't do to much.

Fullback:

Dan Kreider - Inc., Don't remember seeing him do anything.

Reagan Maui'a - Inc., Don't remember seeing him do anything.

Tim Castille - Inc., Don't remember seeing him do anything.

Wide Reciever #1:

Larry Fitzgerald - I saw all that I needed to see from Fitz for the entire preseason. He looks ready to go. *** and I agree with him that Boldin could take Hines Ward.

Jerheme Urban - He is our 4th WR on the final 53 man roster. In the matter of one game he locked himself into a roster spot. Played well on special teams where he had a fumble recovery, and crushed James Harrison on a vicious block.

Sean Morey - Almost had a block, but he recieving skills might leave him on the outside looking in.

Lance Long - He will not be on the Cardinals, but he will be on some other team's roster. He played very well last night, but there is too much talent here in AZ to keep him.

Michael Ray Garvin - Link See thread. He has put himself in an interesting situation.

Wide Reciever #2:

Anquan Boldin - Is a beast and almost had to great catches, that I will bet he will make in the regular season. He is ready to go. Nice to see him happy, and concentrated on football.

Steve Breaston - Seriously. How much better is this kid going to get ? He looked great last night. I wish we could stop using him on special teams, he is too valuable to risk. He is a lock at 3rd WR position.

Early Doucet - DNP, hurt.

Onrea Jones - Had two nice catches from Tyler Palko late in the game, one for a TD. Showed why he was on our practice squad last year.

Edward Gant - Inc., Don't remember seeing him do anything.

Tight End:

Anthony Becht - Inc., Don't remember seeing him do anything.

Ben Patrick - I think he caught one pass, but I didn't see to much from him.

Stephen Spach - Inc., Don't remember seeing him do anything.

Leonard Pope - Had a nice catch, but reminds me of Freddie Jones. He can do nothing with the ball after the catch and is slow. I didn't see his blocking but he was not called out on it so I guess it was solid.

Dominique Byrd - Link For a guy out of football last year, fighting for a roster spot, he had a great game. Had a few catches and blocked well. He made a case to be on the final 53. ** I say he makes the team as an H-Back (or 2nd FB).

Left Offensive Tackle:

Mike Gandy - Didn't pay attention too much to him, but if you are not called out you did OK.

Elliot Vallejo - DNP, Hurt. Get well soon!

Herman Johnson - Steal of the draft, pre-mature ? Yes, but he played well in his first game. Held up well to NFL speed (even if against second tier). Locked down his man in pass protect, and I MEAN LOCKED DOWN. Decent in the run game, and made a good tackle on an INT return. If he continues to improve he will become a force for this team.

Left Guard:

Reggie Wells - Solid. Heard nothing, and saw little but I must assume it so.

Elton Brown - He may find himself on the outside looking in, which is a good sign for our depth at OL. Brown played solid but didn't look as good as some other depth guys.

Trevor Canfield - Didn't do too much to impress. He seems to be too small for the NFL.

Center:

Lyle Sendlein - Played solid. Still looks to be getting over powered, BUT if it gets the job done there are no complaints.

Ben Claxton - Solid. Providing a good competition for the back up center spot. Didn't see to much of what he was doing.

Melvin Fowler - Solid. Providing a good competition for the back up center spot. Didn't see to much of what he was doing.

Right Guard:

Duece Lutui - Solid. Played well enough to justify his start position. Had a good block on a tricky fake pull play action pass.

Brandon Keith - This kid is going to drive Lutui to be better, and might make Lutui expendable for next offseason. When Johnson and Keith are on the field together it makes you feel good about the future of this team. Keith played very well last night.

Carlton Medder - Inc., Don't remeber seeing him do anything.

Right Offensive Tackle:

Levi Brown - Not good. I didn't see where he improved over the offseason. Got beat on a sack that you shouldn't get beat on, and didn't do too much else. Once again, not good.

Oliver Ross - This just in. He still sucks. We have seen this show before.

Brandon Pearce - Inc., Don't remeber seeing him do anything.

Defense:

Nose Tackle (NT in 4-3):

Bryan Robinson - Inc., Don't remeber seeing him do anything.

Gabe Watson - Inc., Don't remeber seeing him do anything. - should have been paying attention!!!!

Alan Branch - Solid....I guess. Nothing to make me say he has turned the corner in the NFL.

Right Defensive End (RDE in 4-3)

Calais Campbell Link Played extremely well. If he keeps this up he will be an upgrade from A. Smith. JUST TACKLE THE QB NEXT TIME :bang:

Kellen Dykes - DNP, Hurt.

Rodney Leisle - Solid. Saw him in, on a couple plays. He is on the outside looking in though.

Left Defensive End (UT in 4-3):

Darnell Dockett - Played solid, and was a reason why Campbell had a good game, cause the Steelers were concentrating on stopping Dockett.

Kenny Iwebema - He is not even at 100% and played well, IMO. He is a lock for a spot on the final 53.

Alex Field - Inc., Don't remeber seeing him do anything.

Left Outside Linebacker (RDE in 4-3):

Clark Haggans - Played solid. Showed a little bit of a pass rush.

Victor Hobson - Was solid but didn't do too much to impress. Is on the outside looking in right now.

Will Davis - He was called for a penalty on special teams if I am not mistaken. But had are great pass rush move, and then instead of getting the QB went for the ball, and missed both. Looked pretty good, but needs to get stronger. He made a case to be on the final 53.

Right Outside Linebacker (OLB in 4-3):

Chike Okeafor - He looked really good last night. Was quick off the ball, provided a pass rush, and played well against the run. Let's make sure he comes into the regular season healthy, tho.

Bertrand Berry - Inc., Don't remember seeing him do anything.

Cody Brown - I saw him out there, and he didn't do too much. I would say he played solid. He seemed to be dealing with the speed of the game alright, but he needs to get stronger.

Strong Inside Linebacker (MLB in 4-3):

Gerald Hayes - Played solid, usual Hayes stuff. Made a good play to try and strip a ball out. He is fine.

Pago Togafau - Was solid, and looked to be improved in compared to last year. Still has a lot of work to do, to get a roster spot.

Chase Bullock - This kid has some promise. He moved very well, and played solid. I was looking for him during the game. I hope we can keep him on the practice squad. He might turn out to be a player.

Weak Inside Linebacker (OLB in 4-3):

Karlos Dansby - It is going to suck if Dansby leaves next year. He was all over the field last night, and played a very good game.

Ali Highsmith - Very happy with is performance last night. Played the ILB very well, and was much improved at the position. He made me feel better about our ILB depth, and may have cemented his spot on the final 53.

Reggie Walker - Inc., Don't remember seeing him do anything.

Left Cornerback:

Domonique Rogers-Cromartie - Solid game. Looks fine.

Michael Adams - Made a case for his spot on the final 53. Got beat deep once, but made some fantastic tackles to hold the Steelers to nothing on short passes, and had a GREAT play on a jump ball. Keep in mind the guy is 5'8" standing on a phone book. Very good game for him, and played well on special teams as a gunner too.

Greg Toler - Lived up to his billing as a good athlete that is raw. His skills showed that he can play. He had a pass defense, and some good coverage. He is a work in process, but justified his draft position, and roster spot.

Jameel Dowling - Didn't have a good game, and may be cut soon. Good size, but he is the odd man out right now.

Right Cornerback:

Bryant McFadden - Physical. The guy lays the wood out there. He really makes our secondary scary. He played well, and seems like he might be an upgrade from Rod Hood.

Ralph Brown - Inc., Don't remember seeing him do anything.

Wilrey Fontenot - Played OK. Was solid, but I do not think it was enough. Might be cut soon, even after being on the practice squad last year.

Free Safety:

Antrell Rolle - Rolle looks like a safety this year, and not a CB turning safety. He had some good tackles, seems to be reacting better to what he sees as well. Let's just stop using him to field punts, please. So far in his two attempts he has muffed the punt, and gotten hurt (last year he got hurt, not last night). I am more comfortable with him at FS this year.

Matt Ware - He actually had a solid game all around. Nothing special but solid none the less.

Rashad Johnson - Welcome to NFL, LOL. The guys is good football player, and you can see the promise that he has. Physical player, with good speed, and instincts, but he some work to do in order to adapt to the NFL game. He had a few mental lapses out there last night.

Dennis Keyes - While I like Keyes, he had a pretty poor game, and may be on the outside looking in, or might even be cut sooner than later. I thought he looked better last season.

Strong Safety:

Adrian Wilson - Link Nuff said. Put him on the shelf for the rest of the preseason. He is ready to go, and may kill himself playing so hard in the preseason. He is going to have a great year.

Aaron Fransisco - He was written off, but played well last night. Had a solid game and made a case to keep his salary and spot on the roster.

Keith Lewis - Also played well. The competition between Fransisco and Lewis is going to be tight, and heated. That is a good thing. Lewis looked better then expected at the safety position.

Special Teams:

Kicker:
Neil Rackers - Looked fine.

Punter:
Ben Graham - Meet our punter for 2009. Had a phenominal game last night. He could be a weapon this year.

Long Snapper:
Mike Leach - Did a good job snapping, and showed some ability with a few tackles as well. He seems to be an upgrade at the position. But it is wierd that he wears number 48.

That is it. As a whole I think the Cardinals played a very good, solid game against the defending champions. There was nothing that would make your confindence in this team regress. Looks to me that the Cardinals are ready to go and make some noise in 2009. Very promising to say the least.

Alan Branch - Solid....I guess. Nothing to make me say he has turned the corner in the NFL.

I watched the game on a considerable delay so I rewound (that's a word right) and watched every single play that Branch was in and focused solely on him. He was pathetic. He was going against AQ Shipley (7th round rookie) for most of the time and he was getting dominated. He poked his head into the backfield a couple of times but that's the best you can say about his night. 90% of his snaps end in top results, either him basically standing up and getting driven back four or five yards and for some god for saken reason he always tries to spin out of the block or simply turn his back to the defender (niether of which worked) or the plays goes away from him, or it's a pass, and he just stands there content to stalemate a blocker who's only trying to keep him from pursuing the play.

Even against the 3rd team blockers he showed nothing. His 'light bulb' still needs major work.
