Because Diop is 4 years younger and more athletic than Tsakalidis.
Furthermore he has probably more upside.
I think that Diop could become the next (and bigger) Adonal Foyle.

Diop looks more mobile on the court and at least he did put up pretty decent stats in summer league.

I remember him having something like 12 blocks in a game at last years RMR.

Also I am pretty fed up with Big Jake because he still isn't a man inside and dunks it and his stone hands have not really improved so far.

So I wouldn't mind taking a chance on someone else now.
