I don't understand the darkside mentality and hopefully you guys can help shed some light. Since coming to Arizona our beloved Cards have had 7 winning seasons. 4 of those have been under Keim. In fact I will make the claim that he is the greatest GM the the Cards have ever had in their entire 100+ year history. Further, the past 10 years have been the greatest 10 year stretch in team history as well.

Again, I'm curious why the "darkside" is upset and not enjoying what is literally a golden era for the Cards. We went 11-6 last year with a ton of injuries at high impact skill positions and had the misfortune of playing the SB Champs in their house. This is the golden age of Cards football right now, as good as it's ever been and likely as good as it will ever be.

So again, why so glum friends?

Losing four out of the last five games plus getting blown out in the playoffs tends to do that.

Simply having trouble finding a light at the end of the tunnel that's not a train.

I don't see the Cardinals as improved.

Low bars there. Since 2012 they are 81-77-2 and 1-3 in the playoffs. If that’s the best decade in team history it’s not brightening up the dark side at all.

Not belittling your opinion at all. If you are happy then good on ya. Both sides can still be good fans.

It’s all good :)

Keim's tenure as GM looks better than it is due to it being top heavy with his first few years when he was living off of talent that he inherited. His first 3 years we were loaded and had 10, 11, and 13 win seasons. The majority of those rosters' existed for him and he only had to be good at the "keim time specials" fill what they needed to round out the rosters. Since then the Cards have had 2 .500 seasons and 1 winning season. One of .500 seasons was due to Arians pulling a coaching miracle. That team shouldn't have been any where near .500.

Since then the team has been slowly circling the drain thanks to his drafting ability. There's a dearth of talent due to it that's going to take years to fix. The start of last year was fools gold and the team's second half was them showing their true colors. There's a severe lack of talent on this team. The little talent we do have are all in their 80s since Keim likes to sign the 2015 pro bowl team. That gets us exactly what we saw last year. The team looks good when they're all 100% but with the age of the talent you're lucky if you have them for 50% of the season. You can't win consistently that way. Fundamentals matter and for a GM that's building the foundation of the team through the draft, not with over the hill players. Every pick doesn't have to be a superstar but you need a good percentage of them to at least be roll players and contribute something.

Unless Kyler pulls some miracles this team is going to be looking at 5 wins with the current roster.

Didn't keim draft nearly our entire defense?

Yup...

Baker, murphy, wilson, Allen, golden, fotu,.....Simmons, collins....Collins.... a few other guys.

But everyone says the defense suxx because Vance Joseph is a moron.

But for a good portion of the season they were top 3 in points allowed.

So, either keim suxx and VJ is actually a pretty damned good coach
Oorr.........
Vance Joseph suxx and keim drafted some pretty good players.

But if they both sucked as badly as most on this board so passionately argue...this defense would have never sniffed the butt Crack of average in anything.

So, which one is actually pretty good at their job and which one makes it harder on everyone else?

I agree with your premise for the most part Chuck… but, and I could be wrong, but it sure seems Keim’s record if signing players to a second contract isn’t all that great. That said, I really have no idea how he compares to other GM’s in that area…

Most of those guys that Keim has drafted are stiffs. You have 1 really good player, a couple serviceable guys, and the rest are either not that good or are looking like high pick busts. The last category is bad luck for Keim. I was excited for Simmons at the draft but he's been a disappointment so far.

As for Keim vs VJ, you missed the option where they both suck. VJ's not good at adapting to his players. He's a system guy and doesn't deviate. Keim also isn't doing him any favors with getting players for his system. I want them both gone.

And for the "But for a good portion of the season they were top 3 in points allowed" that was fools gold that was boosted by two things. First, Watt and everyone being healthy. Something you can't rely on when you're signing are all over the hill guys. Second, the offense was masking the defensive issues. They were scoring early and enough that it was forcing the other team to be more one dimensional and pass. What happened when the offense when south? Teams came more balanced and ran a lot more. I don't think we need to get into how bad the run defense was last year. There's a reason they didn't stay top 3.

You must be insane trying to be positive amongst the negativity on this board. By now, you should realize that Keim sucks, Kliff sucks, Murray especially sucks, Simmons sucks, Collins sucks, Watt sucks, Green sucks, Conner sucks, Moore especially sucks, Ertz especially sucks, etc., etc. Shame on you for trying to be positive after an injury riddled 11-6 season.

You are in the Dark Side thread... ;)

Just wait for the upcoming 5 win season if you want to see things get negative.

There needs to be a thread for:

RISE ____UP ______BRIGHT ____ SIDE (2022)

Maybe you could start it?

Lots of good stuff in your post.

Just can't help yourself. Whining about darksiders in the dark side thread is like pissing in someone's living room and claiming it's their bathroom when they get upset.
