We need something official on this. Doesn't sound right - Rackers not a Card. Sad day if it's true.

The Cards were reported to be talking contract with Rackers. Obviously, they are too far apart to make up the difference if this is true.

I'm going to be sad if Rackers leaves too.

Wait....

Missed FG attempt at end of Packers playoff game in 2010.

Missed < 30 yard attempt at end of Niners game in 07 to lose it.

Missed 30 yard attempt at end of Bears game, to lose it, the most painful miss I've personally experienced.

Now, I'm over Rackers leaving. In fact.....

rackers is too good of a player to drop, he is just as good as any other kicker you are going to get but adds 7 other dimentions to his game. Ill be pissed if he busts a perfect onside on us.

meanwhile, I'll be THRILLED to see him lining up to make a game-winner against us.

That sucks. I really liked rackers as a football player and a person... Hope he lands somewhere good.

Yup. Its awesome that he can tackle and kick touchbacks and place onside kicks but he cant do what you need your kicker for the most: kick in the clutch. There are certain kickers that when they stroll out there in the closing seconds, you know they are going to win the game, Rackers just isn't one of those guys.

However, we need a change there, but I don't know that Feely is the guy. Doesn't he also have a spotty history with game-winners? I would love if we could have Rackers and somebody like one of the Andersons, where Rackers kicks everything except for a kick within the two minute warnings.....just a pipe dream though.

If Rackers leaves, you guys are going to realize what a valuable asset he was to this team and just how hard it is to find a good kicker.

Rackers leaving won't make me realize how hard it to find a good kicker... it'll give me hope that we'll finally get one.

Really? Against us? I'll bet $100 he nails it right down the middle.

ok... we're the Cardinals so of course he'll hit it against us. But against anyone else? I'd make that bet 100 times out of 100.

I want Rackers to go, but I do not want a kicker with as a bad as history as Jay Feeley replacing him.

I remember what happened to the Cards after the Jim Bakken years. It wasn't pretty. Anybody who expects a kicker to make every kick isn't being reasonable. I'm sure Rackers won't have a hard time finding a new home.

He doesn't need to make every one, only the ones that count!! Let the choking dog go. Good riddance!!!

He could have found a new home any time in the last two weeks. How's that working out for him?

Amazing that there's no real market for kickers who are awesome unless you need them to do their main job under pressure.

One thing Ive noticed about Rackers is he will make every kick unless there is pressure on him.. He just doesnt respond well to pressure.. The evidence is out there for everyone to see..

you're right. But asking him to make at least over fifty percent of game winning kicks is reasonable and he's shown he can't do that.

I'm sure Rackers won't have a hard time finding a new home.

well, he hasn't found one yet. I mean, if good kickers are so valuable, and he's not only a good Kicker but this all-around football player that people love to tout him as, answer me this... why is he still out of a job?

If the team wins by 3 points or less and there is a field goal kicked for them during the contest, does that field goal qualify as one that counts or is it only in the final seconds where it counts?

Twice I've gone through this. You are wrong. I don't feel like doing it again, but you are wrong. There are something like 3 misses and 6 kicks he made to win games.

What is he asking for in a contract? How many teams want to replace their kicker and are willing to pay a premium? Do you really believe Feely is a better option?

If you can't recognize that there is a different type of pressure on someone taking a kick at the end of a game to tie/win and making one during other times it is pointless arguing with you.
