We've commented before with Marion's struggle with the English language. I just thought it would be appropriate to comment on what a pleasure it is to watch a Raja Bell interview. The guy is articulate and thoughtful.

Seems to me he has a future in broadcasting or coaching.

Ya know, a lot of people may think Raja is an uneducated thug. Quite the opposite - he is intelligent, passsionate and articulate. He does have, however, an image that he likes to cultivate as a hard-nosed defender.

But in reality, he seems like a nice, easygoing guy. Now I've never met him personally, but in all his interviews (like when they visited him at home with Cindy) he seems like a caring, sensitive guy (Cindy rules at home, BTW).

I'm sure Nash wouldn't be best friends with him if he really was a 'thug.' Just my $.02.

I've read it somewhere that Bell and Nash always talk about politics together and they share very similar views.

That would make them comrades. ;)

Speaking of Bell's future, I wonder if D'Antoni would consider giving Barbosa a chance to start. Bell is not likely going to get much better and if Barbosa worked very hard on his defense he could easily be a quality starter at SG. I doubt this will happen next season as D'Antoni likes to bring Barbosa off the bench to handle the ball (while Diaw is the primary playmaker) when Nash goes to the bench. Maybe if the Suns get a quality PG with one of the picks in this draft that is something they would consider. We're left with the question of what to do with the Hawks' pick in 2007 (assuming they're not top 3). Obviously a replacement for Kurt Thomas would be nice (his contract is up and he's old anyway) and the way the 2007 draft is shaping up that seems like the most likely direction. It doesn't look like there will be too many quality two guards (Marcus Williams is the top rated SG at nbadraft.net) in 2007, so I am wondering if Barbosa might be the SG of the future. Another option would be drafting someone like Noah in 2007 and moving Diaw to SG. I like Bell, but I am not sure how long he'll be able to maintain his offensive production.
