Rams trade back three times, make 10 picks in new 7-round mock draft
The 2025 NFL Draft is nearly upon us, and teams are beginning to form their plans for all three days.
The Los Angeles Rams are an interesting spot, as they have a huge gap between their first two picks at Nos. 26 and 90. With no glaring holes, the Rams can be judicious with their decision-making and flexibility in how they move about the board if their favorite prospects are there or not.
In this new seven-round mock draft from CBS Sports' Chris Trapasso, the Rams are one of the biggest moves in the league. L.A. trades back three times — including twice in a row — to finish the draft with 10 picks. The Rams currently have eight picks, but half of those are on Day 3. In this draft, the Rams don't have a Day 1 pick but have five Day 2 picks and five Day 3 picks.
The Rams use their picks to fill various needs across the roster, including two cornerbacks, two linebackers, two offensive linemen, a defensive tackle, a tight end, a receiver and a quarterback.
Here's how the Rams' draft went based on this mock:
Rams pick up Nos. 36, 70, and 126 in exchange for the No. 26 pick, meaning L.A. now has a pick in the second round, a third pick in the third round and an additional pick in the fourth round.
The wait for the Rams' first pick gets longer with another trade, this time 11 spots back with the Cardinals. L.A. adds another third-rounder (No. 78) in this scenario.
The trade party continues in L.A. with a third move, this time to go back 20 spots to the beginning of the fourth round. The Rams add the No. 186 pick in sixth round to complete the move.
