At the QT on Warner & Hardy. For some reason the play I most remember him making was a saftey against the Giants in the south end zone,we won 19-0 he kinda looked at me like I was a Wackadoodle for remembering that .He still lives in the valley & looks to be in dam good shape.

great word!

I think very few players are fans of the game. They also see fans as wacked out crazy people that have no life outside of stalking them....as you were as when you tapped into his phone line and found out he was going over to the QT and followed him back home...just to make sure he got there safe...and continued to watch him through binoculars thoughout the day and night...until....

:)

I talked with him at a party a couple of months ago, I guess he is involved in developing some youth organization in Chandler. He still looks like he could do some damage as he is in great shape...however, he did say his knees would never be able to go through a season and it was just a bad break (no pun intended) that he had to give it up...great guy though, and he is really still in tune with what the Cards are doing and has positive things to say about the direction they are going...definitely plans to attend a few games at the new stadium!

Wouldn't it be great if he was able to come back and play spot duty, just enough to get him in shape for the playoffs? If he still has his strength and speed we could put him in on passing downs.

I know, I know.

It's really amazing to me that he has such a good attitude about his career. I'd be so depressed if I was him, knowing I was a dominant player, then having to stop because of bad knees. :(

Glad to hear that he is doing well and doing good, though. :)

He is one of my favorite football players of all time.

Him, Chuck Cecil and Wolfley are my 3 favorites.

All of them played with reckless abandon.

Seek and destroy.

I can still remember the game in 98 against the Bears at home where he was blowing almost every play up in the backfield. It was a shame he was lost before the playoffs that year.

That would be a good season to go back and watch before this season starts.

I wish the NFL would make a team's entire season available on DVD.

I believe he is living in Chandler now...he used to live in the neighborhood and my wife used to see him at Starbucks every morning (Power/Thomas - Mesa). When I talked with him he said he had moved to Chandler...that was in December.

A while back after Swann had his surgery, my brother had knee surgery and his PT was one of the PT's for Swann. She said Swann had a very low pain tolerance (not exactly in so nice of words). I think she might of said he was a bit of a baby. I just wondered it he really pushed his rehab if he might of been something great. I guess you never know what pain a person really has unless you're in their shoes.:bang:

Not that I can say she's lying but I have a hard time believing a guy who played for years with zero cartilage in his knee had a low pain threshold? I know there was the sitting out with the broken finger incident but I alway sort of attributed that to Swann thinking that the team took for granted that he'd play injured.

In 1998 Swann had surgery, that was later revealed by Dr Chick to be "essentially the same procedure Steadman performed" meaning Microfractures. At that time the standard was 6 weeks non weight bearing, ie on crutches. Swann was back PLAYING, 5 weeks later. He gave it a shot but he just couldn't play, I recall Joe Greene saying how Swann was in such pain he had a hard time firing up out of his stance because he couldn't push off the bad leg. He eventually shut it down and Steadman did microfractures again and then basically came out and said the first time around the rehab had been completely mishandled by the Cards.

If I had to guess I'd say she worked with Eric later in his career when he had a long history of injuries and was probably starting to doubt if it was "worth it" to work hard to get back? I mean the guy had something like 9 or 11 surgeries on his knees before he retired, if he really was a baby he'd have never lasted that long IMHO.

Gotta be Tillman, Centers, and Anquan. Can't leave Centers off that list.

Quan, Centers, and #35.

I'd throw in Boston before he became a headcase.
