Still would like a vet WR brought in, cuz that room is still thin, and injuries do happen.

I don't know that he is or isn't. A couple stats for Demercado. 4.9 yards per carry is good. 2.0 yards after contact. 5.7 yards per reception. 21 catches. Long rushing attempt is 49 yards. Longest reception 22.

Some nice versatility shown by Demercado in year 1. Statistically speaking, there isn't 2.2 mil worth of stat differential between Demarcado and Carter based upon 2023.
Maybe you are right. I thought Demercado was a pleasant surprise considering he didn't even play much for TCU. Good scouting to find a guy like him.

I guess the eye test is wrong in this case.

Fun splits on Demercado:

Had 2 rushes in Cardinals wins. Had four rushes when the Cards were leading and 21 rushes when the Cards were tired or trailing.

A lot of his averages are distorted by one 49 yard run against the 49ers. The Cards know a lot more about this than we do.

He was an UDFA with not draft capital associated with him. He is now camp fodder at best.

I thought he played well. The Cards also used him to protect Murray from pass rushers. I’m not sure who they choose to keep.

That's a fair question when you pose it that way. I would expect that Carter is the third down guy and will play quite a bit, while Benson is more of a lead ball carrier type who spell Conner.

Benson might not get a ton of touches this year, but it was still a good pick since he is likely Conner's heir apparent.
Benson will get a ton of touches, and I predict he will be the starter by mid season.

1. Remember the practice squad is bigger now. A lot of these guys Will end up on the bigger practice squad.

2. The New kick-off rules Makes the roster composition interesting. Do We carry more WRs Or DBs than usuall?

3. Number of OL is interesting. I Think Colon and/or Wilkenson Could be in danger if Gaines Or Adams steps up. There is Absolutely No way Froholdt Or Hernandez gets cut.

4. Interesting Fact about Carter’s salary. Benson Will take a lot of touches from him. Demarcado is more of a blocker and Good ST player. That salary and 4th most used RB Doesn’t match

@Chopper0080

Thanks for putting this together. Nice work.

Michael Carter has to make the 53.

WR room is still weak. MHJ is going to see constant double teams.

Edge is a bunch of JAG's- BJ is our only hope to break out.

What about Marquis Hayes?! :)
Big Mo is a soft spot for me. Hope is that he can find his way to the PS.

I believe:

Carter before Deejay.

Kei’Trel makes the last CB spot.

46 - CB - ? = Steven Nelson, formerly of the Texans.

7 - RB - Emari Demercado. Michael Carter

10 - TE - Travis Vokolek. Carry the fourth TE on PS.

32 - DL - Roy Lopez. DL/Edge: Cam Thomas
I thought about the 4th TE on the PS as well but the majority of the personnel groupings involve TEs and so I wasn't sure how comfortable they are with potentially losing their 4th best.

I kinda agree despite the many trips to the doghouse last year. The Booby Price ST snaps made me hesitate alog with the snaps for SThomas.

That looks pretty spot on. I could see them taking Demarcado over Carter due to youth and pass blocking and everything he's put into it.
