It would be profoundly stupid to pass on Gregory at #24 because of a possible drug concern. It's always the known pot guys that outperform their draft status. Sometimes college kids just have too much time on their hands.

I think it was much deeper with him than just drug concerns. Or, at least, there were underlying concerns that he isn't just a recreational user who can easily kick the habit in the pros: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...-gregory-handling-pro-footballs-mental-rigors

I read some of the quotes in that article and think of D-Wash. It's not just that he failed a test or two. It's that there's the genuine concern there that he could put himself in a situation where his entire life and career rides on not doing something stupid, and you just aren't sure if you can count on him not doing something stupid even then. I think that's very different than a failed test or two from a college kid with too much time on his hands.

As the great Bill Polian said, no player that has tested positive at the NFL combine since Warren Sapp has played terribly well. Hmmmm

Gregory is a wasted draft pick unless he completely reverses almost everything he's done.

Drugs are not the only issue with that guy.

I think that the concern is he HAS to be on something to maintain the condition he has, and in doing that it impacts his ability to play. So the concern is he'll either be on meds and not very good, or he'll go off meds, self medicate and be a ticking time bomb for a positive test.

His talent was never in question. It's just whether or not he'll even be available for games. If you want to trade up from 23 to the top of round 2, Randy Gregory will cost you not one but three draft picks.

What then?

Doug and Wolf said this morning the rumor is he's down to 225 lbs. Something may be very wrong with him. Arians said last night "He's cost himself millions" referring to Gregory. No web source, just heard it last hour on the radio.

Something's wrong with him alright, he's a pothead. That's prolly why he's losing weight or maybe he was on PEDs to keep weight.

they can say what they want
just saw a recent video he put on twitter
his weigth was 245

anyway he has enough strenght even if he is undersize
he is quick fast
sideline to sideline speed
facing koepernick and wilson we need a player like him

every pick has a risk.but the ceiling about him is very high if he stay clean

Pot makes you hungry.

His problem is NOT pot. That was being used to control other symptoms.

There has to be something wrong with him, and it is probably something compiled along with the pot problem and the teams know it. Just because the team looked into Honey Badger and felt he could overcome his addiction... one should not fault the Cardinals if they feel and are right that Gregory cannot be salvaged, that is on Gregory and not the Cardinals!

he's already in the NFL substance abuse program. that's ridiculous. that alone makes him an easy pass for me.

in regards to "oh well we helped the honey badger". Ty WANTED to be helped, he was surrounded by people who WANTED to help him. he was vouched for by his best friend who happened to be PP21. 100% night and day difference folks.

I've seen manyyyyy a pot smoker who are slim & lose weight toking, though 225 or whatever he is isn't small lol

The dudes got major issues imo.

It's to bad he could have been a Contender, he could have had the world sitting on his fingers. But the answer to this kid is no in the second. If he is still around in the late rounds.Kim must consider taking a chance.

Where are you getting all this? Symptoms? What, he's got cancer?? Don't start saying stuff like that.

No he's even publicly stated he was using pot to control anxiety. He's the rare kid that was not lying about that.

The kid has major problems that require medication to control.

I hinted at it the other day with Reeves Nelson, the only other name I can throw out there is Barret Robbins the ex Raider.
