I would take Brandon Roy any day of the week and twice on Sunday over Morrison.
I disagree.

Morrison is a much more charismatic player and a much better scorer/shooter than Roy. He is at least two inches taller. Roy may be a better passer but other than that I don't really see what he has over Morrison.

Roy is a lock down defender who can play the point. Morrison is the better pure shooter, but Roy does it all.

Athleticism, defense, etc.? lol I'm not sure I'd Trade up that high for either though... they aren't bad but if you're Trading Hawks Pick, I'd prefer a big. I watched Hoops Summit and was pretty impressed with Sene and next game will be to watch UCONN/Washington - I'd just like to see Armstrong once more and it'll be first game for Roy all year.

It's weird how much can change in a year... I liked Roy but would've never thought of him as a Lottery Pick and Boone took a big-time hit in his ranking's...

Roy is definitely not a lock down defender, I do think that he is overrated as a defender. I'm not sure that he is an above average defender.
The more I see him, the more he reminds me of Jalen Rose.

Roy may be the most NBA ready right now, but Adam Morrison has a passion for the game and has basketball smarts that very few players have. Morrisons weakness may be his defense, but he has everything else going for him to be an exceptional player. If you watched him play, you can tell he seems to know what to do at all times, and can absolutely score against anyone or pass to the open player to score.

And, hcsilla is right, Roy is not a lock down defender, no matter where you may read it. Brandon Roy is going to be a very good player, but Morrison is going to be better.

If what you say is true about Roy, I think he'd be a consensus No. 1. But what I read is he's an above-average athlete, not a true Top 10 pick athlete. What he has going for him is a big toolbox of skills and a good work ethic. I've read no report that suggests he was lockdown defender in college, and haven't seen any report suggest he's capable of being one in the pros.

From what I've seen Roy is a good defender. I wouldn't call him a lock down defender. He's just a good all-around basketball player.

I'm not a huge Morrison fan. At best I see him as a Mike Miller, and I'm not sure he's as good a pure shooter and/or athlete. Now his defense I remember being horrid at times.

Most of all I can't stand his mustache.

Joe
