Adub played in 5 pro bowls, 3 time all pro, and is one of only 6 players--not safeties, but NFL players--to have 25 INT's and 25 sacks. In the history of the NFL, ever. In games played from 2001-2012 he was the best safety in football, statistics support that.
Compare him to Polamalu, whom everyone seems to love because he played for Pittsburgh:
WILSON POLAMALU
Games 181 158
Tackles 886 755
Sacks 25.5 12
INT 27 32
FF 14 14
FR 8 7
Def TD 4 5
Pass Brk 16 28
Those stats are skewed IMO because Adrian played on such a bad team with the Cardinals. He played when we sucked super-bad. Polamalu and other safeties played when their teams were productive and contenders and had pressure on the front 7, allowing him to roam and do things. Adub played for one of the worst teams in the history of the league. For many years.
The problem is safeties don't get inducted often and there's other safeties who are HOF worthy before he even played.
(People should also recognize that his #'s started to seriously decline with the rule changes on hitting QB's and hitting receivers over the middle. There's a direct correlation. Wilson is old school and destroyed most records from his era and before. With the new rule changes, and at his age, he was relegated to swiping at dudes and relying on speed he didn't possess anymore. He was never a cover guy. He was a bruiser, a tackler (look at his #'s) a sacker of the QB, and a zone technique guy in coverage. When we started moving to more man with Horton especially, his value decreased. His #'s are HOF. He played on so many bad teams, and he stuck with his Cardinals)
