I know it's little early, but rate the following players in order of who you would want the Suns to draft... This list does not include players who will definitely be off the board by the time we pick. Obviously a lot of these players will be gone by 14 too, but you can't perfectly forecast who will and won't be there yet.

Chase Budinger
Austin Daye
DeJuan Blair
Jonny Flynn
Eric Maynor
B.J. Mullens
James Johnson
Gerald Henderson
Earl Clark
Wayne Ellington
Ty Lawson
Stephen Curry
Tyreke Evans
Jeff Teague
Brandon Jennings

1) Jonny Flynn- Fast, quick, athletic, and can get to the rim consistently. Pretty good on the ball defender. I feel like he would flourish in the up tempo game and his ability to penetrate is another great weapon when we end up slowing it down. Also a great leader.
2) Earl Clark- Clark would seem to fit very nicely in our system. Long, tall, very athletic, solid shooter, runs the floor well, and has the ability to become a good defender. Small forward is a position of need with Barnes likely leaving (hopefully) and Grant nearing the end of his career or signing else wear. I like J-Duds a lot but we could use someone else there obviously.
EDIT: Brandon Jennings- I think Jennings strengths would be magnified and his weaknesses minimized in the Suns offense. He is an unbelievable athlete and his potential is limitless.
3) James Johnson- Good size, big wingspan, solid shooter, and tough. He would fit our system well and as mentioned before, we could use another SF.
4) Stephen Curry- I am warming up to Curry more and more. The guy is an amazing shooter. If he can effectively run an offense as a PG then he will be a good NBA player for a long time. I just have a hard time drafting another defensive liability.
5) DeJuan Blair- Blair is the tough guy that we need to crash the boards and be physical. His height doesn't worry me much because of his long wing span. However, his weight will always be a concern and he isn't a terrific athlete. I would be satisfied and apprehensive at the same time if we drafted him.
6) Tyreke Evans- I like Evans a lot as a player, but he isn't a pure point guard yet is most effective when he plays the point. He is an electrifying scorer but is a tweener. Although their games are different, that is the role Leandro plays for us.
7) Eric Maynor- This guy is growing on me a lot lately. One of the most NBA ready players in the draft. He is a real PG who has a great assist-to-turnover ratio. Good defender. Strong in nearly every area though he doesn't stand out in any of them.
8) B.J. Mullens- Mullens is a freak athletically for a guy his size. He has a chance to be a top 5 center in the league. I just don't know if he is the defensive presence we need in the middle.
9) Gani Lawal- I really like Lawal and think he would fit in nicely here. Has a lot of athletic potential, runs the floor well, is a solid defender, a good rebounder, and plays hard and tough.
10) Gerald Henderson- Henderson is a great athlete and a good defender. Although I think he would fit in well, if we keep J Rich and Barbs both, then their aren't many minutes at the 2.
11) Terrance Williams- His athleticism would hit in really well here with the run and gun, but he doesn't shoot the ball well.
12) Austin Daye- His skills would fit the system really well, but do we really want another soft player?
13) Ty Lawson- I think Lawson will be a great backup PG or a mediocre starter for a lot of years. Had a great season for UNC, but I think 14 is too high for him.
14) Jeff Teague- Tweener. Knows how to score, but if we are going to draft a guard I would rather have a pure PG or a pure SG.
15) Wayne Ellington- Great shooter and you can never have too many of those. 14 is a bit too high for him IMO.
16) Chase Budinger- I just really don't want Budinger. The guy has a lot of ability but has no killer instinct. I am tired of having players who are going to be a liability on the defensive end..

How do you rank these players in your order of who you want the Suns to draft?

Are there any Bruce Bowen/Ron Artest type defensive players available?

I think we will have the opportunity to select a great defender with one of our second round picks. Paul Harris, Danny Green, Toney Douglas, and Darren Collison are all solid perimeter defenders who could possibly be there at one of our 2 picks in the second round (Collison will probably be gone).

Why did they let Strawberry go? He fit that role well, I thought.

Strawberry was not a lock down defender nor a good offensive player. His best chance was to transition to PG which he couldn't do either.

Strawberry somehow got the reputation on this board as a lock down defender, but that was hardly the case. I attended the summer league in Vegas last year where Bayless scored on Strawberry at will and Strawberry couldn't do anything about it.

Terrence Williams, Earl Clark, or James Johnson would be nice fits; Daye I worry about his size but another nice fit.

I still REALLY like Jordan Hill. =] and I have a game to watch of Mullens but I do like Lopez and unless the Suns Trade O'Neal, not sure they'd go Center.

I don't have much game-film of all the PG's =[

From all what I heard, and read, Flynn and James Johnson seem to be the best fit, if Blair is gone by #14. Clark is a bad fit.

As to Bowen like defender, we have a better veriosn in the making in Dudley. Dud is much better offensively already now and more athletic than Bowen. All he needs is court time to learn all the bigtime swing scorers' tendencies.

I discovered an interesting link below from DraftExpress on another forum sunstalknet( http://sunstalk.net/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=2&sid=986b06ec7022b372e6b4381cef58d7d2). It is quite a good site but could use more traffic.

The pre-draft measurements are eye opening. DraftExpress notes measurements without shoes and with shoes.

Note Daye has better height than James Johnson and Blair is smaller than expected. I have started to single in on Mullens as a big I like plus there is a nice batch of PGs (including Flynn) which, IMO, are NBA caliber.

You keep saying James Jones when I think you mean James Johnson. ;)

just out of curiousity, why do you view Clark as a bad fit?

well, from this at http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Earl-Clark-488/

Situational Statistics: This Year's Power Forward Crop

Another player in that boat is Earl Clark, but his production looks a bit poor for other reasons.

One of the more perimeter oriented players in this pool, Clark earns two dubious distinctions. First, he’s the most turnover prone, giving the ball away on 18.7% of his logged possessions. Second, his Points Per Possession of .85 ranks him last on our list. A bit stuck between the three and four position, Clark’s poor PPP stems from the fact that he took 5.3 jump shots per game (1st in our sample) and only managed to get fouled of only 9.3% of his possessions (23rd). Unfortunately, his ability to play the three doesn’t excuse the fact that he falls below the mean FG% in post ups (46% - even), fast breaks (54% - 16% below), pick and rolls (38% - 11% below), isolations (38% - 4% below), and basket cuts (55% - 13% below).

Given Clark’s lack of efficiency across the board, the team that picks him will be banking on him utilizing his athleticism to his advantage to create mismatches and develop the type of consistency he’ll need to be productive. Obviously players who have as many tools as Clark deserve some credit for what they could bring to the table down the road, particularly defensively, but how much remains to be seen.

Daye is too light. I'm afraid that he is another Miles. Blair has great wingspan and standing reach, better measurement than Charles Barkley. Johnson is strong and supposedly very good defender for 3/4. I don't like Mullens.

Interesting stats thanks for the info. I watched Clark when Louisville played Minnesota at University of Phoenix Stadium this year and both my brother and I were unimpressed. However, for some reason I have talked myself back into thinking he wouldn't be a bad fit here.

Daye makes me nervous. how in the world can you be 6'11" 190 lbs.? That is unbelievably skinny. I don't argue the fact that he has some skills, but I have a hard time thinking he will be able to hold up in the NBA.

Have you watched any video tape on Mullens? He blew me away with his athleticism, how he slashes to the basket, his hops and speed. Also his build is definitely NBA caliber (he can even add more weight) and he is only 20. Also he is reportedly a good shooter. This kid can sky like very few 7 footers can. If someone can pass him the ball inside he knows what to do with it but I believe he will have a much more rounded game as he develops. He is definitely not tentative like Lopez or Diaw. I like him so much that after #2, he would probably be my selection.

I agree that Mullens has ridiculous potential, but that's what worries me. I am baffled as to why his production was so poor at OSU. A guy with his athleticism and size shouldn't have struggled so much at OSU.

There is a better chance of Barkley and KJ coming back and running the up-tempo with Shaq 40 minutes per game and winning the championship together every year for the next decade than Johnny Flynn lasting to #14.

I didn't even include Brandon Jennings on my list because I assumed there wasn't a chance he would last until 14. However Chad Ford did a pole among 15 GM's asking them to rate the top 13 PG's and Jennings averaged out as 7th on the list. Ford says there is a possibility that Jennings could slip out of the lottery all together.

Flynn and Jennings are the 2 PG's I think would fit in really well here. Jennings is awesome in transition and goes at full speed all the time. His athleticism is exciting and he would be a blast to watch.

Chase Budinger??? If the Suns draft that guy, I will literally puke my guts out. That guy couldn't defend the slowest player in the NBA.

That's is why he is dead last on my list. I am pretty sure there is nobody on this board who wants us to draft Budinger. (I hope not at least)

IMO, the same with Harden.
