Here are three of many. I love when people say "we could have got that guy lower". How in the world would you know that? There were 40 trades. Not one of the first 6 picks made in the 2nd Round was made by the team that originally held the pick. Everyone was moving around to get the players they wanted. You'll see one of these articles says that Williams would have been a 1st rounder if he had gone to a D1 school. The entire draft is a crap-shoot. there are no sure things. I like each and every pick they made. Unlike last year, I think each of these guys will make significant contributions, several of them this year.

He sucks and plays soft. Refuses to tackle or get involved in the running game support. Per Manock was single handedly responsible for 3 TD's given up because he refused to tackle... Not the kind of player I would want on the team AT ALL.
I watched Mayock when he said that about Tankersley. Glad we didn't get him.

Reddick...had the highest grade from the sports science guys. If you watch that film...I think you can YouTube it. He has the fastest 5 yard sprint through the heavy bags ever. His first 10 yards sprint was faster than laundry the wr from Miami. He broke the QB crash dummy with his hit that produced 32 Gs of force. And they gave him a 91+ grade..which was highest in draft....and compared him to Harrison of Pittsburgh

For me the draft was a solid A. Not only did they go Defense with the first two picks, they picked up two OL, both of which were top goals for me in this draft. I would have been happy with one OL, but got a bonus one who looks to be a solid value pick. WR was a plus for me. I was NOT unhappy they did not draft a QB, in fact I am one of the few who think next year is the year to go QB either draft or Free Agency, maybe trade since I was not in love with any of this year's QB class. RB was a bit of a surprise, but one of the untalked about themes in our draft is we got 4 or 5 guys who can play special teams immediately for us! That is huge since last year we obviously sucked in that department, which probably cost us a few games. I wanted a guy first round who could pass rush, and we got a guy who can give us the three safety look that our defense likes to play with the second pick. My only regret of the draft was not getting a DL somewhere, but lower down in the draft there probably weren't any at our picks that would have been difference makers.

B-....Didn't like the Holden pick and how did we come out of a CB deep draft without one.....Chad Williams could have been picked later....Loved the value received in the Johnson, Logan and Ford picks....Believe they all make the team.....Reddick and Baker solid picks.....
Ford's being groomed to play CB.

I'd give it a B+. I always throw one pick out - Holden. The receiver's friends concern me. Of course it's nothing compared to the stuff some teams accepted. If Hernadez was still with us and draft elligible I felt like someone would have taken him. DJ was a great pick. He starts soon. I think Reddick (slightly overrated) and Baker will play well. I just thought better choices were available. The year will show us if I'm right about Foster. Being a long time Cards fan, I hope I'm wrong. SF seemed to have a strong draft. I think Logan helps quite a bit. Ford offers significant special teams help, but I can't believe they think he could play corner. Might play a little as a box safety, but only if injury necessitates. When 6 out of 7 make the active roster that's a fine draft. I'm sure they will. Considering all the 2018 picks they'll have, they should have traded back into the late 7th and taken Kelly. I be surprised if Denver doesn't make him a winner.

I give it an A- for two reasons.

1. They controlled themselves and made the necessary adjustments to get the players that they wanted.

2. The players all seem to be good fits for *this* team and likely to make the roster, if their on the field play matches the paper. When your worst pick is a 5th round backup swing OT, you are doing something right.

I give them a B.
I like Reddick, Baker, and Johnson. Chad Williams on round 3 was a reach, they could have gotten him probably in the 5th round.
Not happy that they did not pick up a QB or CB. But overall was a solid draft better than last years.

Once they had made all the picks their plan was obvious. I really have no complaints and I usually do. If Budda Baker pans out like I think he will we will be talking about that trade as one of Keim's best moves ever. I think Budda is going to be a star.

Grade = A

I'm not worried about not picking a QB. We did a solid job in replacing those gone. Safety, and cornerback looks a lot better than before the draft with solid picks. O line could be good to great for years. QB will come from next years draft or FA that become available at the seasons end. One of the biggest area I expect is our special teams which we really needed.
All in all I would grade it a solid B+ or A.

Hasaan Reddick - B+
Budda Baker - A+
Chad Williams -C+
Dorian Johnson - A+
Will Holder - C
TJ Logan - C+
Rudy Ford - D
Not addressing the CB issue gets a F
Not forcing a QB pick gets an A

All in all Id put it at a solid B.

I agree with the B grade. They'll get three starters out of it when it all shakes out, and that's pretty good. Not a perfect grade because they didn't address the glaring black hole at CB, and they got fleeced for their significant trade up but got squat for their trade down in return.

No grades from me.

What I liked:

I like the idea of adding athleticism, speed and pass rush to the LB core. Golden, Buc, Redddick and Jones is a nice 4.

Dorian Johnson. Seems like a guy who can come in and help right away.

Didn't like:

I would have rather had one of the 1/2 dozen corners available at the original 3rd Rd pick and taken my chances in round 5.

And yes, I realize it's a contradiction liking DJ but not liking the trade down

I agree with this and would have rather had that CB then an OG and I do like the Johnson pick.

Oh, so my grade is a B+ simply because we didn't get one of the higher rated CB's in this deep and rich CB draft.

Sure it would have been nice to have our QBOTF selected but I didn't see that QB in this draft.

I can't wait to watch HB and Budda out there getting picks and sacks and driving opposing QB's crazy.

Reddick should be as much fun as DWashout. Heck, Los and Reddick and Golden and CJ will be a ton of fun to watch.

If Diche does what he has the ability to do this D will be insane.

I feel great about the Oline which means I feel great about the Offense in general and expect a year like 2015 and not 2016.

Special Teams should now be special in a good way and not like last year. Hopefully Logan can return punts as well and then we are set.

Many of you are assuming Chad williams would have been available in round 5. The few articles I read said that he was told anywhere from 2nd -4th, with 3rd being the most likely by NFL advisory board. And other pundits stating that had he attended a big program he likely would have gone top 50.

Who knows if those are accurate. What I do know is the team liked him, has a great history under current leadership of finding excellent small school WRs, and got him near the end of the third round. AOUNDS about right to me.

Overall I like the draft for the following reasons:

Reddick's upside. This is a little hoping for best and appreciating the talking heads' glowing reports on him.

Unlike apparently a lot of you, I think having two honey badgers is better than one. A LOT better. If budda pans out more like a Thomas more power to us!

And I think almost all the non-o-line picks have a good chance of upgrading our special teams!

Completely disagree with your emotional response. i don't think we screwed up at all. we got the players that the brass wanted and they didn't hesitate. I think your response is very subjective. As far as the locker room goes...I would bet that having CC, Jefferson, Swearinger all playing for contracts was the problem. Add in Floyd and his struggles and I think they cleaned it up. This is conjecture on my part and I am not afraid to admit it.

lol... stout is the emotional one, but the person who thinks the team did great and then calls both CC and Jefferson... two guys that no one has EVER SAID ONE BAD WORD ABOUT... the locker room issues... is the level headed voice of reason?

Right... I'm sure the way you feel about the team has nothing to do with your glowing praise of the draft and slamming two great guys/players who left as part of last year's problem.

For what it's worth, I'm glad we didn't trade up. Looked like the price was astronomical to move up in the early rounds.

Most media outlets I look us say we had one of the better drafts among all teams and have earned "A's"

That's what I'm seeing as well. If we are getting any negatives it's typically about not getting (reaching IMO) a QB.

Allen Hooker Foster all have one thing that Reddick doesn't have injury questions. Of the 4 I liked Hooker the most but was good with Reddick I didn't want the other two at 13.

When you look at Baker I thought he was a steal where we got him when all said and done one 4th round draft pick after other moves.

Williams was questionable forsure in 3rd round, but I don't question the position or Kiem with these small school guys.

There were some moves I liked some I questioned but time will tell what we got.

There is a reason Allen and Foster dropped. Both have major injury concerns with Foster still needing another surgery on his rotator cuff plus all his charecter issues. I can see passing on Hooker if they had singled out Baker as there guy

I just don't know how you can make that argument on one hand but on the other overlook the fact that we took a guy with major medical red flags. So much so that he fell to the 4th round and was off many teams board.

And also.... How is that any different to Allen or Foster who both also played in a crap ton of college football games, but had some injury concerns creep up in the face of overwhelming productivity..... In the SEC no less! Or the fact that we drafted two guys with past issues with the law (Reddick & Williams). What makes one set of rules any better than another set?

I'm not saying your wrong and I'm right..... But I am saying you have to at least acknowledge the hypocrisy.

Overlooking injury issues in rd 4 is WAY different then overlooking them in the to half of the 1st rd.
