Anyone hear his interview on KTAR a few minutes ago? He was REALLY steadfast in his ability to deliver Turner as the OC. Not backing down at all. I like the Arians hire. But I'll admit that I would have liked a Horton / Turner hire a lot more.

Ray Horton and Norv Turner vs Bruce and Team AARP? I'll take Horton/Turner but then Dollar Bill Bidwill is still calling the shots and wanted guys closer to his age on board. Dad Bidwill is just indulging Michael by letting him bring in all the guys he wants from Mike's favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Either one is really fine by me. Because either way Russ Grimm is gone.

Just once wouldn't you like to finally have offense AND defense? Arians sure has the teachers and for the 1000th time we do have a veteran roster. Maybe the new guys can bring us both.

Hard to believe the last time the Cards were top 10 in all 4 categories: points, yards, points allowed and yards allowed was 1970!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard the interview and he said he was disappointed but he respected the process and thought Arians would do a great job. If he is bitter, he didn't really show it.
The bottom line for me though is if we're going to get better we need to bring in better players and I'm hoping Keim can do the job because if he fails, the coach is going to fail regardless of who it is.

I have two opposing thoughts on this.

1-Horton seems like the kind of guy who thinks that because he is so determined he can do anything. I am sure he THINKS he could have delivered Turner, but I personally doubt he could have ACTUALLY done it.

2-I did find it odd that Turner was rumored to be heading to the Browns for so long before he signed with the team. It might be coincidence, but it seemed he signed with the Browns shortly after Horton seemed to be eliminated from the Cardinals coaching plans.

Yep, just as I suspected...

Yeah, I guess it's going to come down to whether or not you believe him. I do, and I'd much prefer Horton with Turner as OC while keeping the defensive staff mostly intact over Arians whose staff leaves a lot to be desired outside of Tom Moore.

And this is exactly why I believe him! I still believe MB pidgeon holed himself by wanting to hire an offensive HC, even though he said he would hire the best candidate. IMO over time, this will play out to be a mistake by Michael...we will see.

Jurecki called the Horton/Turner thing way before anyone else. Which means I think he was dialed into that part of the coaching search. For all the times people think he is wrong he was proven to be unequivocally correct on this rumor. So that means I am also going to believe him on part two of this rumor when he says that when Horton gave the Cards Turners name at his second interview the Cards called him to see if their was mutual interest. Cards called twice, and Norv Turner never called them back.

I have no doubt what so ever Turner was never a real possibility for Horton. Horton tends to be a little over the top with what he says, he tends to be way over confident, there is a reason why the NFL fraternity laughed in his face about his comments after the NE game. I think Horton is doing exactly the same thing in this case.

One more reason why I think Horton is full of BS. If Horton could really get Norv Turner he would have been far more in the mix for the 8 HC jobs this offseason then he actually got. But he wasn't even close to getting a HC job by all accounts.

Totally agree. I do like Horton but he needs to become more realistic in his assessment of himself.

Actually, Turner was on vacation in Hawaii when the rumor started. He signed one or two days after he got back home.

On another note, will you please add me to the list of Wilson-admirers? :)

Ray Horton: "I, unequivocally, would have delivered Norv Turner a pizza."

It makes more sense when you see the full quote.

This explains why Norv waited until BA was hired before he finally took the Cleveland job.

Nothing new here. I would have rather had them also.
