No big deal. As successful as the Bidwills are, they made the right decision.

Read on Twitter that Horton said Arians will be a success and will win a lot of 30-10 games.

Given that, who needs Horton / Turner?

This is yet another reason why I'm glad Horton wasn't hired as HC.

First of all, I don't really believe him. Norv and Rob Chudzinski have been friends for twenty years. Chud also brought Norv's son along with him from Carolina, which was widely rumored to be a big reason Norv chose to take the job in Cleveland. I realize Horton also has ties with Norv, but the Turner/Chud connection seems much stronger to me. Plus, if Horton could have gotten Norv this whole time, why did he initially throw out Kirby Wilson's name for OC? Something doesn't add up.

And even if Horton could have brought Norv with him, why talk about it on AZ radio now? What does he have to gain from it? Why does he have to bring some level of controversy with him to most of his interviews? I'm starting to think Horton is much more like Todd Haley than any of us realized.

Does anyone actually expect a senile 80 year old Tom Moore to do anything?

I think Joe and Dayman are spot-on.

At the end of the day---and this is speculation on my part---I don't think MB ever doubted RH's expertise or passion...

I just think he couldn't trust him 100%...especially with the media.

Do you remember RH's statements following his interview with MB?

They were very upbeat and passionate.

But they also seemed to cross the line in terms of what a candidate should divulge about the types of questions he was asked in the interview.

The one that comes immediately to mind is the one where he said MB candidly asked him what he (MB) could do better as owner.

Now---it impressed me at the time that MB would be humble and interested enough to ask RH that.

But, then I thought that MB may not have taken kindly to RH revealing that to the media.

RH didn't say exactly what his response to that question was---which was good---but---it just came across as a little odd and awkward.

Tom Moore has now made the Cardinals' QB gig attractive to any QB. Arians too---but even more so with Tom Moore, who at 74 (not 80 as you hyperbolize, lol) and having had both knees replaced and still sharp at a tack---has already given this new staff an integrity beyond what any of us I think would have expected.

Two weeks ago I guaranteed that Alex Smith would never come here. Now, adding Moore to the staff changes everything. I could see Smith wanting to come here now---not just for Moore but for Arians as well. The combination is very attractive for a QB.

This explains why Norv waited until BA was hired before he finally took the Cleveland job.

Nothing new here. I would have rather had them also.

Doesnt explain anything. Do you think it is a coincidence that Norv signed on with the Cleveland job a day after his son was let out of his contract with the Panthers thus being able to get hired by Cleveland as well on the same day?

Get over it Ray. The Cardinals are your "ex wife". As much as I like Chud, I hope he didn't hire himself a clunker.

He has a lot to gain IMO. He may have to do some damage control. Many teams were turned off by his comments after the NE game. Some national media were out right laughing at the guy. Many teams were also turned off by other comments he made during the year. Some teams see him as a bit of a loose cannon. Combine that with the rumor of the shouting match as he left out the door and you probably have an agent getting him these interviews to look more gracious, thus the "I think BA will do great and turn things around" quotes. That is at least my theory of why he is doing these "exit" interviews with local media. I mean why else would Horton be talking and Wiz would just leave with a two paragraph written statement? I really think its his agent making him do these interviews.

My personal opinion is, that it was not out of line at all.

If MB thinks so, then he has some issues.

My final thoughts...

One thing to consider is that the Cleveland Browns publically stated that one of the reasons they hired Rob Chudzinski was because of the staff he was able to put together, specifically bringing in Norv Turner. Chudzinski was hired for the same job in Cleveland Ray Horton interviewed for. Either both came in and said they could deliver Norv Turner and Cleveland believed Chudzinski more than Horton OR Horton is FOS and never had a shot at Norv Turner.

FWIW, I think that in some ways the Cards considered him to be a loose cannon. I always wondered why AZCardinals.com posted the pressers with Whis and the PuPu Platter of terrible quarterbacks, but never the Horton interviews.

There'd always be quotes from Horton during the week and on Urban's blog, so he was clearly speaking to the media.

Jurecki called the Horton/Turner thing way before anyone else. Which means I think he was dialed into that part of the coaching search. For all the times people think he is wrong he was proven to be unequivocally correct on this rumor. So that means I am also going to believe him on part two of this rumor when he says that when Horton gave the Cards Turners name at his second interview the Cards called him to see if their was mutual interest. Cards called twice, and Norv Turner never called them back.

I have no doubt what so ever Turner was never a real possibility for Horton. Horton tends to be a little over the top with what he says, he tends to be way over confident, there is a reason why the NFL fraternity laughed in his face about his comments after the NE game. I think Horton is doing exactly the same thing in this case.

One more reason why I think Horton is full of BS. If Horton could really get Norv Turner he would have been far more in the mix for the 8 HC jobs this offseason then he actually got. But he wasn't even close to getting a HC job by all accounts.
This.

It does not matter to me if he could have gotten Turner or not now, it is the whole issue of him not letting it go already... geeez Horton's character is irritating the hell out of me now. He is a GREAT DC but acts like a kid.
