Here's an offbeat question.
Why isn't he good enough to be a first?
Would you spend a first on Dansby?
Dockett?
Wilson?
Boldin?
The answer is, with hindsight sure. At the time, not so much.
The first and second round have got to be close to interchangeable.
I'm wishy washy about the 3rd round.
The whole thing baffles me.
I do it all the time. So and so isn't worth it there. Why?
Basically the prospect needs to have the intangables to be able to start in the immediate future if he's a 1sr rounder. He needs to have alot of upside and be a potential candidate for a Pro-/bowl type of impact player down the road.
You mention Dansby, he was a 1st round caliber player who dropped out to the first pick of the 2nd round. Still basically a 1st rounder.
They mentioned Greene's advanced age as some concern and his top end speed. He likes the physical game, and he'll get plenty of that in the NFL. Hopefully he can stay healthy to be able to make an impact. He's a 2nd round back who should probably be there when we pick.
