Maybe someone should start a "I here a lot about" thread about Hightower like we had when Boldin was a rookie.........worked out pretty well last time.....
Great idea.Maybe someone should start a "I here a lot about" thread about Hightower like we had when Boldin was a rookie.........worked out pretty well last time.....
Great idea.
I have not read past page 1 when this started. Are we (collective) trying to break the Guiness record for most pages of commentary for a fifth round draft choice.
I have a sneaking suspicion that we have another Boldin type surprise on our hands.
Let's not get waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of ourselves.
5 hundreths of a second is equal to a 1/2 a step faster. That is a noticable difference.
I read this on TMQ: "A player running a 4.29 would complete a 40-yard dash 3 inches ahead of a player running a 4.3."
So for every hundredth of a second, you gain three inches and we'd be looking at 15 inches in this case.
I've always thought of "a step" as being more of "a stride" for someone running at full speed, but maybe I'm wrong.
You also have to take into account .5 second reaction time. (on average) Some players are even slower.
I have a sneaking suspicion that we have another Boldin type surprise on our hands.
where's the video of hightower? i can't find it. i want to be scared.

Actually you have a "hope" based on "hope". What are the odds on a 5th round running back emerging as a starting RB? Slim at best. Many of us are sort of in denial we did not go early for a RB like Mendenhall. It will be fun or hurtful to see how our DB vs Mendenhall turns out this year. Some have posted they do not think Cromartie will start this year which is possible as it does take some time to develop most DB's. Hightower on the other hand will be easy to judge rather quick as he can either run at this level or he cannot. Probably in training camp we will know just how good Hightower is or is not.
Goodness..... clean that up.
Some enterprising reporter has got to track down the origin of that nickname for Timmy. There has to be a story there someplace. I mean "Tug Boat" for Marcel Ship is obvious. The Bread Truck not so much.
And the Pulitzer Prize goes to...If you watch his videos? One of the announcers says is running "like a run away bread truck".

A good OL can make an average RB damn good.Late round RB picks are often successful. Top picks often bust or are average at best.
You'll know by year two how good TH is. And no, you won't know right away...he'll have to adjust to the NFL speed as well.
