Love Games!
We will accomplish a lot this year and will go beyond our usual mark. We will be 7-9!!!!
Didn't we do this last year and the wheels came off...Right now...the only focus should be beating the 49ers in game one, to go 1-0. One game at a time.

7-9...
The first 8 games on the schedule are brutal and I will be plesantly suprised if we come out of it with more than 3 wins...

I think we will have a season much like the Bengals did after they hired Marvin Lewis. The biggest difference being that instead of having the rookie sit and playing John Kitna, we will have our young SC stud getting his second year under his belt, meaning no transition in year two like they had going from Kitna to Palmer.
I think the biggest issues are the transition to the 3 -4 and the gelling of the new guys on the oline.
I say we go 8 - 8 (to me 4 -6 wins is a riduculous thought. We won 5 games with a washed up Warner/rookie QB and one of the worst in game coaches i have ever seen. Have the Cards really stunted our expectations that much?) with our season breaking down like this:
3 - 5 first half of the season
5- 3 the second half with the defense and running game paving the way.
I think the low expectations are a good thing. Unlike the past two season maybe we will go into the season with a chip on our shoulder rather than a sense of entitlement.
Guys don't discount the coaching change. Denny was just plain old horrible. Wiz and Grimm are miles ahead of him. They were both inline to coach the Steelers for god sakes. This isn't Vince Tobin, Dave McGinnis, or even Denny. We will see how it plays out but i feel everyone is being too pessimisstic.
I say anything under 7 - 9 is a disappointment if Leinart stays healthy for 16 games.
Here's a quirk in the poll. If you thought we would win 8 games, what would you vote, 7-9 or 8-10?
Sorry but that really is just an excuse. Teams do it all the time. The Bengals did it with their new coach, The Bears with theirs, The Saints with theirs, The Jets with theirs!
Lets not make excuses to justify another shiddy season because there arent any.
okay, how are these for excuses:
the oline barely upgraded (i like al johnson and the levi will take time)
the oline is shuffled . . . yet again
a new defensive scheme
a defensive scheme that doesn't fit the personnel (see berry and to a lesser extent okeafor at lb) or is new to personnel (dockett at end, dansby moving to the inside) or a crucial spot manned by rookie (see branch)
thats the bigs up front on both offense and defense. that's enough to make me beleive that we're staring at 4-6 wins. and yeah, yeah, i say that every year . . . but guess who's right every year . . . ?
They were both inline to coach the Steelers for god sakes.
The online is still a huge question mark, and could potentially be a joke. Anybody picking more than eight wins is drinking kool aid.
Edge, hollywood, Q and Fitz will only go as far as Johnson, Latui, Wells (yikes), Brown (yikes) and Gandy (yikes) take them.
then they better hire a good IT guy . . . or is he/she holding out?
