Fenway are the reason Boston sells out during bad years. Even is Chicago only draws well when they are winning now and since they took away most day games. Since their last playoff apperance, their attendance has gone down every year and only drew 32K a game last year.

Cleveland has averaged less than 50% capacity for 10 years straight.

For Pittsburg, other than last year and the first year in PNC, they only drew 66% of capicity.

Philly has struggled in non winning years.

Like I previously said the question was what franchises/cities would have patience not what baseball fans. Arizona is a horrible sports town right up there with Miami and Atlanta. The only reason UofP was selling out was because it was all fans of the road team. It aggravates me as someone who obviously cant go to every game or buy season tickets since I live on the other side of the country. How you can compare AZ to most other sports towns is ridiculous. They can barely get a sports talk station that solely talks about local sports.

Pittsburgh? Not even close. I spent three years there and they couldn't GIVE tickets away.

How about penguins and steelers tickets? You can get a cheap ticket to any team in AZ including a coyotes team who is killing it. You can get a ticket there for $10. I can get a Suns ticket for $20.

I am crapping all over this trade because it doesn't make any sense. KT gave up on two young prospects, over whom the organization has control for many more years, in order to bring in a second 1st baseman.

Sure, he'll play the outfield...where he will be a liability.

And I know we can't go out and sign all the great talents in the game to silly contracts. I know we can't compete financially. But this seems to be a trade that hopes a change of scenery will somehow make the hole in Trumbo's bat disappear.

Eaton sucked and Skaggs was getting worse... Not saying Skaggs might not bounce back and become a solid major league pitcher one day down the road... But at this stage, I have no problem using him in this trade.
Trumbo was one of only 11 players to go 30. & 100 last season. Some feel that with proper coaching, he can improve his average and OBP...
We'll see about his play in left field, but frankly, if he were to put up 30 or more singers and 100 or more RBI, with some improvement in his discipline at the plate and his OBP, I would be sooooo good with this trade.

Trumbo is who he is. We have enough history on him. I don't think he is like Skaggs, where he is still raw and can show improvement. I think that, regardless of coaching, we know exactly what he will bring to the table. I think he will be the exact same guy as he was with the Angels, only he'll be playing out of position to boot.

In my opinion, KT was on the right track with last year's lineup. Unfortunately, there were some big injuries and then several of our starters had off years all at the same time. Last year was an anomaly for many of those guys. It went against the trend in their careers. Rather than blow the thing up and bring all-or-nothing bats back into the mix, I would have stayed the course. Prado and Miggy could very well return to form this season and if we get Hill's bat for a full year, that is all the boost this offense will need. (and that is before potentially adding Owings to the mix)

I just wish KT would concentrate on the universally-agreed upon problem with this team: the lack of a true #1 pitcher and the back end of the bullpen. I just don't think the bats are the problem.

A thousand times this. We were 5th in runs scored, run an outfield of Prado/Parra/Eaton/Pollock out there, and have Davidson/Prado split time at 3rd. Use one of the OF along with Skaggs/other prospects to trade for a decent starter or bullpen help.

Instead we panic and trade for exactly what we were trying to get away from last year. Stupid Towers.

Pretty funny. Trumbo, a dude who is going to be 28 at the start of the year, whos numbers have been fairly entrenched... HE is the one who can improve? Skaggs and Eaton? Toast. Those young players who havnt even had HALF of one full year at the big league level, in all likelihood they are what they are.

The backwards logic used to make and defend this trade is hilarious.
