Not good hear PP not looking good out there. I hope he is just not playing as hard as he can.

That too would be inexcusable

Was there for about an hour and a half before my boys pooped out.

- Cooper ended up on the ground in the first snap of the goal line drill. Not getting much push in the run game. Was the only guy wearing training wheels (a strap to make sure he doesn't over-set) during the OL drills.

- Peterson was getting worked over during the 7-on-7 session. It was hard to tell whether he just wasn't really competing or if he's struggling.

- Markus Golden and Ed Stintson really stood out to me.

- Rodney Gunter is so far down the depth chart as to be a non-factor.

- Earl Watford looks strong; I wouldn't be surprised to see him start getting first-team reps. Entrenched with the second unit right now.

- J.J. Nelson looks smooth in the return game.

- Logan Thomas is not good at being quarterback. I'm not sure how long they can keep running him out there. Sims was held out of the 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 work for some reason. If neither of them are interesting #3 options, the team needs to start making some calls.

- the interior offensive line was giving up a ton of pressure. Would've been lots of sacks if you could touch the QB. One play Iupati got pushed back 8 yards.

- Minter was showing some leadership and calling in the plays at ILB.

- Deone Bucannon could take the next step this year. He looked very smooth in coverage.

I noticed Stinson as well on Friday. Looked much more confident than he did his rookie year. In fact the entire DL looked great to me.

I too am worried about our OL. Didn't see much from the inside guys on Friday as well. No push at all in the running game. Seemed like they were getting over powered.

On Friday they had Bucannon playing all over the place. He really seems to be blossoming into a versatile talent. Man we are deep at safety!

I'm kind of worried about our CBs though. Powers struggled some on Friday and he was going against the 2nd team O. I thought that PP looked OK. Not much depth beyond them.

I don't see how they can keep Logan Thomas on the 53 man roster. Maybe they keep him on the practice squad. Even then it seems like a waste of space and time. I just don't see the light ever coming on for this kid.

PP hasn''t looked good in a long time. He gets owned by receivers.

IMO, he is seriously overrated.

Thanks for the updates. I've looked at the videos on the Cards' official site, for both yesterday and Friday, and came away with some impressions. Such as:
*Kerwyn Williams was called out by BA for fumbling a couple of times. On one occasion, I thought the problem was the QB (DS?), as the handoff didn't look smooth. While BA knows who was at fault, I think we should take his opinion, with a grain of salt, as he could just be sending a message.
*The offense didn't do well in the goal line drills, but imo, Paul Lasike looked pretty good. The problem was the blocking. I did notice Stinson stuffing the offense.
*We are so thin at CB, that we have to hope that Powers won't miss much, if any, time. And speaking of CB's, did anyone notice the play, good or bad, of #35 (Brooks), #36 (Roberts) or #37 (Richardson)? Still waiting on Bethel to show that he is more than a VG ST guy.
*Before the start of the PS games, I think it's safe to say that Sims is #3 and LT #4 on the QB depth chart. First two PS games should let us know if either will make the Final 53. Unless Sims steps up, I wouldn't be surprised if he is cut and then signed to the PS. And we just cut LT. LT might be claimed but Sims wouldn't, or so it seems to me. We could go into the season with two QB's, with either Sims or a waiver wire pickup on the PS.
*I'll wait till the first PS game before worrying about the OL. At least we have many OL candidates to choose from.
*As for the running game, is there any chance that Ellington or Johnson play next Saturday?
*Who is the most pleasant surprise of TC, so far? For me it's John Brown, as he looks much more confident, this year. On the defensive side it's the HB, as he seems to be really moving well.

Camping out: Inside linebacker Kevin Minter, a second-round pick in 2013, hasn’t made an impact in his two seasons. But coach Bruce Arians remains high on Minter, who played last season despite suffering a torn pectoral in the preseason. “Kevin Minter has done a really good job. In his package, when he’s healthy, he’s really good. We didn’t bring him to play dime (defense). We brought him here for Seattle and San Francisco. And in those games, he and Kenny Demens both have played good because they are rock-em, sock-em football players.”

Arians likes the way several other young inside linebackers are playing, singling out Andrae Kirk, Gabe Martin, Alani Fua and Edwin Jackson, who has earned the nickname “Poundcake” for some reason.

Watford was playing RG with the second team.

I honestly wasn't watching Minter during team play because I was keying Cooper and Peterson most of the time. The drop off between him and the group of undrafted free agent ILBs what was available was pretty steep.

You know its sad to say, but I agree. Been thinking that all last year. I just hoped it was his Diabetes that was causing the issues. From what it sounds like from camp, that may not have been the case.

We have to hope that PP is saving his best for the games that count.

I get very frustrated when P2 gets beat and last year it happened way too much IMO. Thing is he was voted to another Pro Bowl and was voted the 21st (IIRC) best player in the NFL by his peers.

In addition he has the support of some posters that I respect their FB opinion very much; Chopper (where have you gone?) and K9.

I think we can all agree he isn't the best CB in FB at this point but hopefully he attains at least close to that status this year.

PP isn't even a top 5 corner guy is aggravating to watch on Sunday and he doesn't even give a Sherman vibe where quarterbacks won't throw his way.

Meh. I don't think he's even trying right now. I'm not worried about it at all.

After the ish on a stick season he put up last year, if he isn't trying right now, that's a problem, IMO.

What's he gonna blame this season on if it goes south? Hemrroids?

Sherman stays on one side of the field while PP often plays the teams best WR all over place. Big difference. Sherman would often get beaten by the teams other best WR if he had to cover him all day as well.

Also, if you give credence to NFL players, PP was rated the 19th best player in the league. There aren't too many slouches on that list. I doubt he accumulated that status just by being a good guy. He's a very talented player.
