Red One: Good effects, interesting story, silly and fun. Certainly not an Oscar winner, but enjoyable popcorn stuff. 3 out of 5 stars for me.
Sacrilege!!!!Nah, although my wife laughed a few times, the humor really fell flat for me. I loved Vacation but didn't care for any of the sequels. Anyway, now that I think about it, Scrooged comes pretty close to what I'm looking for in this kind of movie.
Right? I even used this movie as an example for my veterans in the self-advocacy group I just ran about dealing with disappointment, as it relates to ideas of the "perfect Christmas"Sacrilege!!!!
The inclusion of Randy Quaid's character really bugged me and you can't have something like that hanging over your head while trying to enjoy comedy (at least I couldn't). I didn't think there should be any place in another Vacation movie with a character that had apparently molested his daughter. Sure, the line in V was pretty damned funny but I see no redemption for a dad that "french kisses" his daughter.Sacrilege!!!!
