BOSTON — Returning home from a road trip that ended far better than it began, the Red Sox begin a seven-game homestand Friday night with the first of four against the Chicago White Sox.
Facing White Sox lefty Martin Perez, the Sox lineup is righty-leaning. Rob Refsnyder will get the start in right field over Wilyer Abreu and Romy Gonazlez is in the starting lineup at first, with Triston Casas sitting.
The game marks the return of third baseman Alex Bregman, who was away from the team on paternity leave in the road finale Wednesday.
The lineup features Trevor Story in the cleanup position, a spot that was held down by Casas until recently. Casas is batting just .172 with only one homer.
Gonzalez, meanwhile, has been a spark in limited playing time, slashing .409/.480/.591.
Abreu has had limited playing time against lefties this season, with just six at-bats to date.
Hunter Dobbins will make his second major league start. He made his big league debut almost two weeks ago, getting the win in the nightcap of a doubleheader against St. Louis.
