Talked with a friend of mine who is an orthopedic doctor. He said an osteochondreal allograft is not the most common procedure performed - but literature has very favorable outcomes. He said anecdotally his patients that have had this procedure come to develop some varying degree of arthritis faster than the average adult- however the 10 year prognosis is very good - he may just have a bum knee by his mid 30s

Wanna play this game? Cause trust me your list is gonna be way shorter?

I get you wanna be optimistic but pretty much trying to be a smart ass pointing to an exemption to the rule isn’t a good argument

Yes, it is because if there's an exception, it's not a rule.

In my opinion, an exception to a trend would be more accurate.

That’s a cartilage transplant. Valid future option, but not universally successful.

will johnson might be one of the best players on our team - the way people want a qb to come in and push kyler.... that's what we get with wj in our secondary room - a new pecking order will (johnson) be established - everybody's job just got easier if will johnson is going one on one with the #1 receiver - not to mention we won't be blitzing as much - I guarantee rallis is doing the hippie dance too

Doubt (IMO) very much that Rallis will be moving Johnson around to go one-on-one with the opposition's #1 receiver; he's not the second coming of PP21. Johnson's strength is zone play, and Rallis favours that scheme, which could be boosted if we can generate sacks and hurries without blitzing.

Entire defensive staff should be elated with all the options they have now

I think of Will Johnson and Garrett Wilson as having two great #2 corners which is better than a lot of teams can say. As others have mentioned filled we need Melton to be above average.

No. Huge medical red flag. I get it but I’ve always felt if you can’t stay healthy in college your probably not gonna stay healthy in the NFL

Garrett Williams.

Michael Wilson.

The fact Will Johnson has said he has been healthy for 2 years and is now "on a mission?"

PRICELESS.

Consensus #13 overall.

Analysis:
A tough injury cut Johnson’s 2024 campaign short and sent his draft stock tumbling. However, he did prove his level of talent across his tenure at Michigan. His 57.2 passer rating allowed into his coverage across the last three seasons charted in the 94th percentile. Pairing Johnson with breakout cornerback Garrett Williams will upgrade a coverage unit that allowed the sixth-highest EPA per dropback.

Bio:
Johnson is a long, lean cornerback with elite foot quickness and change-of-direction fluidity. His limited long speed will create questions about his man coverage reliability in the NFL, but having him play off coverage with his eyes on the ball as a zone-scheme wide cornerback could allow him to make impactful plays more often.

Johnson earned five starts in 2022 as a true freshman before starting 11 games in Michigan’s national championship campaign in 2023. He missed most of his 2024 season due to a severe case of turf toe, as well as a minor shoulder injury.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound outside cornerback has some of the quickest feet you will see. Though his limited long speed makes zone schemes his best fit, he can play press-man due to how quick he is to stop, start and change direction. His long arms come in handy for forced incompletions, a number that was near the 55th percentile over the past two years. His frame is leaner and lighter, but he still shows decent effort in run defense. Strength and tackling aren’t his strong suits, though, and he was even more inconsistent there in 2024.

When Johnson keeps his eyes on the quarterback in off-zone coverage, he has good instincts to jump routes and bait throws, as evidenced by his nine interceptions and three pick-sixes in college.

Better late than never. Love the pick

It doesn’t mention what position the two NFL players played and how old they were when the procedure was performed.

The other missing piece was the reason. Was it based on an injury or degenerative.
