Good to see Goldy swinging the bat well again and making solid contact! I guess the HR's will eventually come...

Apparently, the first and second base runners did not advance to the next base after the hit. They stopped to celebrate. Cincy then did an appeal because they did not advance. They discussed it for 5 minutes or so, then everyone walked off.

Great to see Goldy swinging the hot bat. Too bad about that absolutely BS called 3rd strike on him. There should be some sort of repercussions for an umpire making a call that bad. Everyone makes mistakes, but sweet, weepin' gee-a-zuz.... that one was horrid!

Even though two D-backs runners messed up by not touching the next bases (2B and 3B), the Reds messed up by not touching 3B for a force, then 2B for a force, when the ball came back in, which would have negated the winning run.

They tagged 2B which removed the force at 3B and threw it instead to 1B, even though the batter Owings had already crossed it.

The Reds had the opportunity to negate the winning run and blew it!

Of course, we don't know how that would have played out because the Reds outfielder gave up on the ball when it was over his head and a groundskeeper threw it back in toward 2B.

Regarding Goldie's slump, I saw it printed somewhere that he was working with the coaches on his swing. He and David Peralta went a combined 8-for-9 with a walk in the 3-4 spots. 'Guess Tomas isn't going to see a lot of playing time for awhile.
