I'll bet it's that young dude with the straight black hair. He strikes me as an even worse official than Violet Palmer, and that's saying something.

This is a HUGE story, thhat most likely will be kept as quiet as possible and king of brushed off by the league in terms of saying whether or not the fixes had any bearing on the outcome of the season.

Man, this blows.

Wow. The NBA is becoming such trash.

Yeah, but how much did David Stern have riding on the Suns-Spurs series? ;)

Please be Violet Palmer

:burgerking:

One of the articles said HE bet on games HE worked.

I'm thinking Joey Crawford the guy who had the runin with Duncan there was some weird stuff said about him by players after that I suspect they may have known something like this was up?

I think most people who watch NBA playoff games know how the deal goes. The games are predictable when it comes to officiating. This isn't shocking to me. It just confirms what I've always believed. I still watch even though I know the playoff games are somehow altered a bit. I just don't expect my team to win.

I'm guessing it's not one of the "elite" officials, but it still pisses me off if this guy was working anything in the playoffs. He shouldn't have been working anything at all.

This just plain pisses me off because basketball is and always has been my favorite sport. I love watching basketball, and it stings to see some scubby ace official tamper with an already growing integrity problem.

I agree with whoever said they hope it was Violet Palmer. She's about the worst ref I've ever seen.

This is a huge story. When its clear that stuff like this has gone on, most people believe that 90% of it goes on without anyone being caught.

It casts doubt on the NBA for years to come. David Stern might not survive this.

There is only one way to solve this. Create an evaluation system for referees that is open to public scrutiny. Individual accuracy records should be open to the public...including information on individual games and specific calls.

I completely agree. Why is it that referee's problems are kept private, but we know every possible issue any player has had?

Maybe this is the reason. Stern has not said one word about this, and he has seemed to be defend and protect referees more and more in the past year or two than I can ever remember in the past.

Stern's world continues to crumble.

I didn't realize Stern was in the mafia - that explains a lot...

Apparently Bob Delaney was once an undercover mob informant!

He's probably too obvious then.
