What's the downside of bringing Reggie Wells in? If I remember correctly, he was a pretty good run block, which we need badly. He's probably in football shape since he was just cut. Does anyone know if he's injured in any way or if he has lost a step since he was here?

You have to take someone off the current roster. I'm not cutting Nate Potter or Senio Kelemete to bring in 31-year-old Reggie Wells. You can't cut Colledge or Snyder for him. Maybe you can cut Ohrnberger or that other tackle we just signed... But at lest Ohrnberger plays special teams.

Reggie Wells started 90 games for the Arizona Cardinals. He's started 1 game since then.

Did he really start for us in both playoff runs? Really? We were playing Gandy-Wells-Sendlein-Lutui-Brown?

Damn, that was a good line. :bang:

This line currently is stinky stinky, I agree with K9 on those mentioned should not be cut...but I would sure cut someone quick for even Wells. Our defense for the most part can hold a team under 20 points, we need the chance to score every point we can and one less sack or even one more hole for a back is precious.

It's was pretty good. Gandy played great for us. I never understood why we let him go after his contract was up.

If we could cut Stewart Bradley to sign Wells, I probably would. But I don't think that works for cap accounting purposes if we want to get an extension with Schofield, Groves, or (on the outside) LSH done.

If we were content that Anthony Sherman was healthy, we could cut Mau'ia. Are we sure about that, though? According to FootballOutsiders, Anthony Sherman played 0 snaps against the Bills. Not good.

You could cut Ohrnberger, but he is playing on special teams.

Can't we cut Jamaal Westerman (OLB from Rutgers)? Who is this guy?

We could cut Pat McQuistan, but that would leave us pretty sad at OT if there's an injury.

Reggie was the most athletic Guard under Denny- He pulled around between Deuce and Levi and made a hell of pulling left guard for Edge in the games we actually won in 2008- too bad he wasn't needed as we went heavy(tonage) pass playbook and traded him to the jets for a decent draft pick.

I think keeping that SB line intact was priority- but Whiz don't have much use for fundementally sound players or units- aint exciting enough for him. Needed to bust another over the hill Steeler and late round rookies Herman johnson and Keith over the fans heads - too see how we would respond.

Considering he was placed on IR his last season and has never played a down anywhere since, I don't think we had a choice in the matter.

As for Wells, there is a reason why the guy has been signed and released by not one but 4 different teams in a one year times span. The longest he ever lasted anywhere was a month.

Just think that was the first Cardinal offensive line to block to a 4+ yards per carry rushing total since 2002 and only the second since 1993. They were also the first Cardinal offensive line to allow fewer than 30 sacks in back to back seasons, '08-'09, since 1977-78. :(

Do I really have to answer that or you just being facetious? Its pretty obvious why I guy has been cut by 4 teams in one year, and it isn't because he is to awesome for one team to behold.

but by the same toke, he keeps getting picked up again...hence, it might be a reason removed from his play on the field or he would at least be kept for depth

And what is the reason?

He usually has an accumulation of grass stains on his back, and arse by game's end.

We are ready have 3 interior linemen that get blown up more times then not, do we really need another ?

We already picked up the worst FA guard available, are we trying to out do ourselves ?

At least there would be some competition. Could he really be worse than out current OTs? is that even possible?

That's not what I remember when he was here. I don't think he can be worse than Snyder unless he is not healthy.

This is probably soemthing that should have been done about 5-6 years ago. I always thought he was a terrible lineman and never understood why people liked him. Adam Snyder is the current whipping boy but Wells was worse than Snyder. I've never seen an OG get knocked back so far, so often, on a consistent basis. I was never a fan.

I was never a fan either but you are wrong about Wells being knocked back. Have you seen Snyder being pushed back like he is on a roller skates? Heck, all three Colledge, Sendlein, and Snyder were pushed back by a SINGLE Bills lineman and sacked Kolb. This line is BEYOND PATHETIC. We NEVER had this kind of embarassement with that line.
