We might get better distance if Rosanne Barr were punting.

Of all the times that Whis did go for it on 4th, I thought we should have went for it there.

IIRC Rattay held for the 49ers as the backup so why not put him in there if Barr is so bad?

I have to say it go back to last year remember the comments in training camp that Rackers couldn't kick when the holder was Capshaw and many thought that's why we kept Player? At the time the suggestion was that Rackers was tanking kicks to make sure his buddy kept his job. And now a year later we're hearing Rackers can't kick when Barr holds. So if Barr is really that bad, replace him, otherwise find a kicker that isn't so damn picky about his holder?

Seriously I don't care if Rackers makes his last 15 FG attempts this year the next clutch kick he has to make I'm going to expect to be wide left.

For any of you who think that there aren't guys on the street who can hit a 32 yarder I just dont know what to say. There are plenty of capable men I am sure. I can consistantly hit from 40 and am far from gifted.

do you have a bunch of guys rushing towards you as that is happening?

From coach Whis today - on Urban's blog

"He reiterated faith in both kicker Neil Rackers and punter Mike Barr, saying in Rackers' case "we're not going to get into a game of musical kickers" and saying Barr is a young punter going through growing pains. But their rough day just added to a bad special teams outing -- Whisenhunt said six of the Cards' 10 penalties were on special teams."

Just like I said above. Those guys aren't going anywhere.

SC:

Too bad if you're right, especially in Mike Barr's case. And Ken Whisenhunt calling him "a young punter going through growing pains" is--with all due respect to the coach--laughable. Barr's a 28-year-old journeyman whose first year on an NFL regular-season roster should be his last. There are at least three true rookies starting elsewhere in the league with better stats than Barr (40.4 avg, 32.2 net), ranked as follows:

#11 Brandon Fields MIA 44.0 35.8
#15 Daniel Sepulveda PIT 43.7 38.0
#24 Adam Podlesh JAC 42.0 37.1

There's even a "rookie" starter older than Barr that's beating his numbers. Saverio Rocca is a 34-year-old ex-Aussie footballer punting for the Eagles with a 41.8 average and 34.8 net.

If the Cards can't find a better punter than Barr, they're not looking hard enough.

Apparently the Cardinals coaches and/or front office came to the same conclusion. Kudos.
