You're happy with the C position as it is?
You bring in Wisniewski and have a 3 man competition for RG & C. Best 2 men win, I think Wisniewski wins one of the spots. Also, Cooper could play C if need be so Shipley, Wisniewski and Cooper would make me happy with the interior line, C more specifically.

That's a fair analysis, but you're basically saying the loser will play Center. We may not even get Wis.

I'm not confident in that. Contract wise maybe, but Lyle has been with this line for a long time.

The idea of Cooper at Center depresses me frankly. It limits one of his best attributes, and one of the reasons I believe we drafted him, which is his athleticism and ability to pull across the line. So I believe you can eliminate him from Center contention.

I'm just not confident Shipley is better than Lyle. Change is nice, but not always best.

I would still sign Wisnewsky. A player that is out there that I believe would be both a good and cheap signing is Brandon Spikes. He's a very good run defender and the kind of thumper that can stop marshawn lynch in his tracks.

Part of Cooper's problems was also mental... I too thought he could play center but how the hell does one allow a guy who cannot get the guard position down call the blocking schemes at the line of scrimmage :D

Again, I said best 2 men, I think those 2 men would be Wisniewski & Shipley and Cooper would back them up. If Shipley went down I would slide Wisniewski over first and slide Cooper in to replace Wis at OG. I would rather sign Wisniewski than draft another interior OL because Wisniewski is proven whereas you risk ending up with another Cooper who may not pan out.
