I'm kind of hoping that this is a joke. Did you already forget Tim Rattay's 12-24, 159 yds, 3 INT stinkbomb against Carolina last October?

Man, it's remarkable that Kurt Warner was able to come back only 7 days later to play in the next game.

What's sad about this is that Rattay's numbers were about the same as Leinart's.

Completion % Leinart:53.6, Rattay 55.6
TDs 2/3
INT 4/3
YPA 5.8/6.1
Long 40/42
Yards per catch: 10.8/10.9

I'm going to guess it's a product of Mitch's fertile imagination.

Daisy, the dig at Mitch was unnecessary.

I'd hate to speak for Mitch, but I'm sure he'll take fertility over the alternative.

Ok, we have one example, I asked how often, so im waiting to see more.

Ill take Q over Rattay at QB anyway.

Q at QB works as a gimmick or package (which I love, for the record) but shouldn't be overused.

BJ Sams would be a huge upgrade over Arrington as the #2 KR.

True story, but aside from being a dynamite number 2 guy on kick offs does he have any other roster value? I love having special team specialists (that's gotta be redundant right?) but versatility seems to be key.

That is not fair to Rattay, he had little time to prepare and he actually did not play badly at all. Only one of the three picks was his fault. #2 was off Urban's hands, and #3 was a result of us being down 16 and having to force it.

I would gladly take Rattay as a #3 again. If not him, give me someone else who is capable.

exactly, fitz said they were literally drawing plays in the dirt.

Of all the games I rewatch during the offseason, that's the one I avoid. I'm sure I could learn quite a bit from taking my time with it, but on the other hand, it could also cause my brain to swell.

Couple of observations.......

BJ Sams would be a huge upgrade over Arrington as the #2 KR.

Larry Allen can still get it done on the left side of the line. What would his price be?

Haggans, or Colvin need to be very high on our priority list IMO.
Sams is damn good at running back kicks. I may prefer him over Breaston.

For once, I agree with you, although that for once probably has something to do with our respective positions on Neil Rackers. Sams has always been a good return man.

Sams is good, but I don't think he's better than Breaston. Anyway, KR and PRs typically have very short shelf-lives in the NFL and Sams already has a few seasons counted towards his expiration date (not saying he's old--I know he's a fairly young guy--just that KRs are usually a flash-in-the-pan).

Recent history is only one year thought, I dont believe they will both get injured again.

Q would be a gimmick but he has QB experience, let him be #3 and if we end up actually having to rely on him hasslebeck was obviously available mid season and will be again.

Sams also has already had one season ending injury. I wasn't trying to say I would pursue him for much more than the vet minimum, but he is a very good STer who I think could contibute.

Thanks a lot. I like PFW; they use good sources. But there's a difference between them and Somers/Urban. Again, thanks.

Urban on azcardinals.com

The Cardinals still only have two quarterbacks on the roster with Leinart and Kurt Warner. The team may bring back Tim Hasselbeck; it is unlikely they will try to re-sign Tim Rattay. There is a possibility the Cards take a quarterback in the draft, although it likely wouldn’t be until the later rounds.

Saw that, too. I still think that the Cards will look for an upgrade. He's obviously not very high on the priority list. If the Cards find a 7th round QB or a UDFA, I'd be surprised if Hasselback made the squad.
