as an aside: im happy SF has reason to play.

I suspect the NFL will move NO / ATL to the late slot so SF wont know at kickoff if they have to win to get into the playoffs

Beating a team twice is hard, but beating a team thrice is almost impossible.

You know I would still take facing Lance and his inexperience in a playoff game.

I would definitely have confidence going back to Dallas bc of the way we play on the road and the way Kyler plays in that stadium. But I just don’t like the idea of playing the #1 offense again in just two short weeks. I don’t see how that offense doesn’t perform better in a rematch.

According to an Espn article I found, from 1970 to 2018 teams that were 2-0 against another team that season won the 3rd matchup that season 13 out of 20 times.

Niners I guess, but I feel like we should beat either of them.

We are already the highest Wild card team. I thought it was pretty much a done deal. Cowboys have the lowest record of the divisional winners. If Boys win over Eagles, and Bucs lose, Bucs win tiebreaker with Boys since they beat them earlier in year.

If Boys win, and Rams lose. Boys win tiebreaker with best conference record. This is only way, as unlikely that it is, that we wouldn't play the Boys. Or am I wrong and missing something?

We’ll I know Tampa beat the Saints last year after going 0-2 against them in the regular season, so that’s at least 13 out of 21 times, or 61%.

The only thing that matters is the Rams/49ers game. If Rams win, we play Dallas no matter what.

Well good. Because we are 56-33-1 all time against the boys so based on that, the law of averages should be in our favor for the next 30 games or so .

They were at full strength. We were down at least 4 starters not counting hop and watt.

We get hump, conner, and Moore back on offense and at least Wilson back on defense.....
I'll take my chances in a shoot out between Murray and Prescott all day long
This. What he said.

I really think Dallas will come out with murder in their eyes if we have to play them again.

Plus, the QB position is so crucial, and Prescott is still better than Lance. Like by a lot. It's SF for me. Hands down.

I was just surprised that the Boys looked so inept against us. They (Zeke) couldn't run the ball vs us, as other teams have all year. Our dbs, I thought, looked horrible out there often. As wide open as there WRs got on some plays, if their QB was on target all day, I think they would have killed us.

The big question is, is that the Real Cowboys or is it the one when they played the Skins the week before. I will take the Boys over playing the other alternative (s). We should go into that game confident. And if Hop and Conner is back, that should be a big help. We really need both of them to have any chance of going far in the playoffs. We really have a great offense with the whole gang present.

I feel good about both of them. The only two opponents I feel good about.

I’d welcome any matchup except McVay

Rams look vulnerable imo. Just dont turn the ball over and we can beat them.

That and Vance figures out something to cause a Stafford turnover. Cause he's willing.

Much prefer a Cowboys rematch as the Niners are a very physical team and that worries me. Dallas, meh, not so much.

Tough choice… At the end of the day, I’d love to have the division title and play SF I suppose. It will be tough to beat either team, but I don’t have a ton of optimism of defense holding up a 2nd time against a 2 dimensional offense.. Give me the inexperienced Lance, stack the box. With a fully healthy O-line we should out score SF handedly (although Bosa is a beast!).

Tough choice either way but at the end of the day we gotta beat somebody. It just sucks having to play a team 3 times in a season or twice in a 3 week span cause eventually they're gonna figure you out.

I think this is missing a crucial element.

We would be at home vs the Niners or on the road vs the Cowboys.

When we played the Niners at home we barely beat them with a full strength team with a Lance making his rookie debut, no Kittle and a bunch of their defense out.

Niners know us inside and out and we have been poor at home.

Kyler is undefeated in the AT&T and we have an 8-1 road record.

I'd love to win the division, but putting that aside I'd rather play the Cowboys on the road than Niners at home.

Another thing you have to throw into the mix.

To beat the Seahawks and hope the Rams lose we have to play our starters and risk injuries. We can't drop any lower than #5 seed and getting higher on the backs of a Rams loss is slim.

I think I'd rather rest several starters (and give backups some game time they may need later) and just settle for #5 vs Dallas. Odds are that what we get either way so I'd rather rest some guys.

I wouldn't rest any starters if they are healthy cause i didn't see any benefit going to the playoff with one week of rest
Even teams getting the bye are quite often rusty the following week

What say you?

If we beat the Seahawks and the 49ers beat the Rams we play the 49ers.

Lose or Rams win then its the Cowboys.

Yes I know there is a long shot the Panthers beat the Bucs, but Im not putting any hope in it.
BA will rest his team as there is no benefit to winning -

Let the chips fall where they may.
Don’t play injured players, especially Edmonds and Conner.
We are The Road Warriors. Home field has not been an advantage to us.

Bring em on. It doesn’t matter . This team is capable of beating any team in the league. How? Play our game and minimize mistakes.
