I think there is a good chance the 49ers beat the Rams. Its win and in for them. If they lose and New Orleans wins...then New Orleans takes that spot.

So therefore you have to play to win the division against Seattle. I am more afraid of the 49ers in round 1....but you can't get cute. We may end up losing to Seattle anyway...or the Rams might smoke the 49ers...but you have to play to win the division and get a home playoff game.

No brainer. Thank you.

I mean, this is a COMPETITION, correct? The idea that we should just lay down and lose the division is mind boggling to me. Rest and protect players? Did we not just see the results of that?

Play to win, play to regain our level of play pre-bye week. That is our best shot to do some damage in the playoffs.

If the Rams had a cake walk, or we were locked in to the 5 spot no matter what, I might feel a little differently...but we have a ton to play for.

The only guy I would hold out if not 100% is Conner.

Win the division for sure. A home playoff game against division rival. Doesn’t get any better. Although anyone who is hurt should not play this week. Would not rest anyone though.

Concern about the 49ers is they play us really tough at home. And it was Hopkins who saved us in the 4th Qrt.

Although that was the game we lost Maxx Williams and Hudson. So it threw our offense off a tad. Hudson dominated them that 2nd game.

We shouldn't forget that securing the 2nd seed and playing the Eagles isn't out of the question.

All that needs to happen is:

1. 49ers beat the Rams. (Very possible as they are playing for their playoff lives)
2. We beat Seattle. (Will be tough, but doable)
3. Carolina beats Tampa. (If B.A. rests his guys, which I really think he may do, Carolina can win that game.)

At same time probably wise to scoreboard watch. If Rams up big at halftime best to sit everyone important in second half regardless of score.

No chance BA rests his guys

With the way that team is banged up and having already clinched a home playoff spot, you really think he goes all out? I could easily see them resting Gronk and Evan’s. And if they ain’t playing, I’d be stunned to see Brady out there.

That point of view I can agree with. But, don't go into it with the idea of tanking. Ludicrous.

I’m not sure how much to take away from the 49ers success vs the Rams and what it means this Sunday. All 5 wins came with Jimmy G who isn’t playing. It’s like Goff vs the Cards.

I'd rather play the Eagles. The Cowboys will come swinging and the Niners know the Cardinals personnel well.

Yep they run the ball well which the Rams struggle against but it works in part because Jimmy is efficent enough passing and gets the ball out fast. So Far Lance has only been sacked 4 times, that's not that much for a rookie QB, but it's largely because at the first sign of trouble he puts his head down and runs.

The concern for him is the same concern everyone has with the Rams, Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey.

49ers won with Nick Mullens for one of those games.

It’s easy to see why. The 49ers love to target ILBs & the Rams have very weak ILBs, especially since their rookie who was showing some promise will be out this week. Counting that with playing the pass every down + not having anyone to contain Kittle outside of Ramsey, but then that means Deebo is available(who also owns the Rams). Ofc Shanny knows McVay’s offense inside & out, so the 9ers’ defense is always the next step the Rams are.

I think either one is going to be tough sledding. Tough to beat a team three times in a season and Cowpokes are going to still have bad memories from the Jan 2 loss.

Law of averages says that streak will even out. Just like the law of averages said we were due for a win over dropping 3 straight.

Beating a good team twice is hard. That lose we just gave them will give them so much motivation if we see them again.
They really aren't a good team. They just benefit from playing in the NFC East.

You know as much as I hate the Cowboys, that is a little harsh. I know they have only beaten 3 teams that have a winning record, but they do have the #1 offense in the league...There is something to be said about that.

It can be said they played a very weak schedule, making their offense look better than it actually is.
