How come everyone keeps bringing up losses and bad events in Cards history lately?
Yes I remember this game, I also remember when my dog died when I was 11. Shall we reminisce on that next? :)

I was actually at this game. My brother got married in Buffalo that weekend and we were out there, the Buffalo in-laws hooked us up and there we were in Ralph Wilson stadium. Which I've got to say is pretty much a crap-hole. It kind of looks like a commercial office building complex, with some bleachers and an artificial turf football field. It had been really nice for Halloween weekend in Buffalo, not even jacket weather, until game day. On that day, it sort of rained and sleeted, blew like hell, freezing rain was coming down sideways. Just god-awful. My now-wife, sat with me through that misery for the entire game, everyone else with us, at least all the women, left at halftime. Its kind of a joke now about how it was a perfect test of how life would be married to a Cardinals fan.

We had just beaten Seattle the week before, the game with the 3 fifty yarders, and the season looked like it might be saved. I believe Buffalo was 0-5 and looked completely beatable. Just another of those games where all the Cardinals had to do was step up and take what was clearly theirs for the taking. I guess the outcome was predictable. Hopefully a game like this being a guaranteed loss is a thing of the past but it was sure typical of 2004. I think we also lost to an 0-8 Carolina team a few weeks later. Anyway its pretty awful to think that Wylie is such a POS that he would set us up like that. But apparenty so. Great memories. Actually other than the Cardinals stinking it up for us, it was otherwise a perfect weekend.

Ever since arrival in AZ, the Cards seem to have had teh ability to lose to winless teams - no matter who was coaching.
Even Wiz's 1st year - 2 losses to SF - will it EVER stop????

Actually Buffalo had 1 win already and Carolina had 2; but yeah regardless both bad teams.

Thanks for the excellent fact checking while decently validating my point. But most of all congratulations on 1000 posts. Nice work.

I was at that game too. My buddy hooked us up with 50 yard line seats about 20 rows back. We were so freaking psyched. Then they played...
That game was over when Denny elected to receive first and go into a 40 mile an hour wind. I remember watching Player punt one that went about 30 yards and then blew back behind him before the game started.

If I remember correctly, that was Boldin's first game back from injury too.

There was no way we were winning that game in those elements. You're right, it was raining sideways it was blowing so hard. We were freaking freezing.

Bad weather, against a bad team, on the road, a game where we were on the brink of .500, all those factors were a guaranteed loss. I'm hoping its different now.

I wanted to add, although their stadium sucked, I admired their fans. That place was rocking. Our Buffalo in-laws threw a world-class tailgate. There was a lot that was impressive that day. I just wish the Cardinals would have been too. Hell, I wish they could have at least made a game of it.

My lifetime quest is to see a game in every NFL stadium. So far I've made it to Buffalo, St. Louis, KC, Minneapolis, and of course SunDevil and UofP. I've got a long way to go, but it was neat getting Buffalo crossed off the list.
