We were just desperate for a QB. We saw what having a great QB meant to our franchise and we wanted it again, at all costs. I wish Kolb had worked out better, but he was made of glass. I thought he played well here and there, he just couldnt' stay on the field long enough to get better.

It's all in the past but he was never good, even when healthy. He padded his stats with short passes that didn't take the offense anywhere, especially given his knack for negative plays. That 4-0 start we had was all the defense, we didn't post 300 yards in any of those first 4 games because our QB was hot garbage who couldn't complete a seam pass.

I admit I don't know the rule anymore but if that was the lockout then why didn't we simply draft PP and trade him to the eagles after the draft?

Was the rule about trading #1 picks still in place, I know you used to have to wait a certain number of weeks before you could trade one but I thought that rule had been changed.

In other words could they not have just simply waited and made the deal Banner is claiming?

It just doesn't ring true to me remember we were told Horton was the one who pushed for DRC to be traded because he wanted tough players and didn't think DRC fit into his defense.

Don't know why they're bothering to say "woulda, coulda" in Philadelphia. They pulled our pants down on that deal as it was. Amazingly, DRC still starting in the league. So is whoever they picked with our #2 (wasn't it a stud OLB?).

It could also be that when the lockout ended the Cardinals took note that the market for Kolb was not as robust as had been anticipated.

In Kolb's defense, that was the WORST O-line ever! Most sacks given up by any team that year, by a lot if recall

Our sack rate dropped nearly in half when a QB who wasn't Kolb was in there. The line wasn't good, but Kolb made them look a lot worse by scrambling directly into the path of rushers, dropping waaaaaay too deep and holding onto the ball too long.

There is the quintessential Kolb play. Takes the snap, pocket is fine, but he isn't even looking down field, he is watching the rush, gets spooked and runs straight into a guy who otherwise would have been blocked.

Yea, I completely forgot about that part with him. He was so skidish all the time
