Why?
Because we’re set with a fat, chronically injured Andre Smith who already lost jobs in Cindy?
This team is going back to penny-wise, pound foolish.
Depending on a perpetual MASH unit upfront that’s also not overly talented is a great idea considering they’re going to have to protect Mr. Glass?
We’re not tight up against the cap. Unless we’re actually gobig to use this room, I don’t get gutting depth in an area that’s not even a strength.
Not saying it is what I would have done, but writing has been on the wall here for awhile. Frees up some cap money, but not exactly sure who we are using it on at this point. Maybe a DJ extension or something. Why?

Yes. Now they can go out and get a decent CB hopefully.Just freed up $7 mil in cap space and got something in return.
So a top QB and a bunch of day 3 picks? Joy.Just a hunch, but I think they are starting to see if they can stockpile some lower round picks, because they are about to unload the truck to move up into the top 3.

He wasn't going to play this year and he frees up space. It's a no brainer and I don't blame teams for not giving more than a 6th. He's near retired.
We need room for incentives, rookies and extentions in the cap.
There is no high dollar CB available, this wasn't making room for a CB, that room is already there as the remaining CBs arent going to get high dollar

We have dead cap space regardless.. the dead cap money comes from bonus money we already paid him that we haven't accounted for in the cap yet, and you can't trade that. I heard there is 3 mil in dead cap space for Veldheer. He wasn't going to play this year and he frees up space. It's a no brainer and I don't blame teams for not giving more than a 6th. We need CBs, wrs, te's etc and still have a good 30 spots open on the roster. More picks is a good thing
