Peterson was signed as a Free Agent by the Saints and counted against their comp picks as a FA player signed last year. When Peterson was traded to the Cardinals, the free agent signing status transferred to the Cardinals and then counted against the Cardinals compensation equation. That is why we lost a comp pick. The next team in line for a comp pick got the one we were supposed to get.
