Republic: Harvey Visible
Suns forward Donnell Harvey may be just 23, but he is a veteran when it comes to practice battles with Amare Stoudemire, 21, and Maciej Lampe, 19.
Harvey's hard work has not been seen much outside the practice court lately. He went from a starter in early January to a guy who has played in five games since the start of February.
He nearly had become a 12th man until coach Mike D'Antoni turned to him Monday for a second-half boost. Harvey had eight points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes.
"The most important thing to survive in this league is to stay mentally tough," said Harvey, in his fourth NBA season. "I work hard to show I can help the team and keep improving. It's been tough. The only thing I can do is work hard every day."
Harvey said he has benefited from a long-term relationship with Suns assistant Tim Grgurich, whom he met as a 16-year-old invitee to Grgurich's summer camp.
