Revelations

From executive producer Gavin Polone (Panic Room) and writer/creator David Seltzer (The Omen), comes this six-hour event series starring Bill Pullman (Independence Day) as Harvard professor Dr. Richard Massey, an astrophysicist whose certainty that all worldly events can be explained by Science, is challenged by a nun, Sister Josepha Montafiore (Natascha McElhone, "Solaris"), who leads him on a journey through the unfamiliar world of faith.

Drawn together by personal tragedy, these unlikely partners -- one who worships God and one who worships Science -- are propelled into a deepening mystery, finding evidence that the world, as predicted by The Book of Revelation, has reached The End of Days.

The time of miracles is once again at hand -- both Heaven sent, and sent from Hell. Satanist Isaiah Haden (Michael Massee, "24") has answered the calling of his "Lord" to make certain the Armies of Darkness will triumph in the apocalyptic battle to come.

Notable guest stars include John Rhys-Davies ("The Lord of The Rings"), Tobin Bell ("Saw"), Fred Durst (lead singer of the rock band "Limp Bizkit") and Mark Rendall ("The Interrogation of Michael Crowe").

The pilot was directed by David Semel (NBC's American Dreams), the series directed by Academy Award-winning producer Lili Fini Zanuck (Driving Miss Daisy, Rush) and Leslie Linka Glatter (Law & Order: SVU).

Did anyone watch the first one? I TiVo'd it, sat down to watch the first 2 this afternoon and found that the first one had gotten bumped out of TiVo because my wife is keeping every damned reality TV show known to man.

So, I have the second one, but was wondering if it was worth trying to watch it without seeing the first one.

Couple of questions:
1. Is it any good (keep in mind that I like the genre of religious battles of good vs. evil, ie FOX's "Point Pleasant")?
2. Did so much happen in the first one that I'd be lost and lose nuances of the story by not seeing it?

thx in adv

:lmao:

I watched the first episode and missed the second...

Not sure I can help, except to say that I really liked it and want to see the rest of the series - likely on DVD. This is one of those recent series that'll be on DVD shortly after it airs (if it's not already available :D ).

I just watched the second episode. I like it, but I have a few questions from missing the first one.

1. How did Pullman's daughter die? Is she dead for certain; why did he say he came with the nun to look for her?

2. How did Pullman (an astrophysicist) get caught up with this sory, anyhow?

3. Who is the kid, "Hawk?"

4. Is the guy in prison the Antichrist, or just some sort of high-satnic priest?

Isaiah Haden (the satanic guy) killed Lucy, Dr. Massey's daughter. He ripped her heart out - literally - she's dead for sure. There was a girl in the first episode who was struck by lightning and allegedly braindead. She began to communicate through words and then by writing (from a catatonic state). One of her writings was a map to Dr. Massey's office. The nun used the map to find the doctor. In the girl's writings he recognized a drawing of a deer as the same drawing his own daughter had once put on a card to him. He was drawn in...wondering if his daughter was somehow communicating through this girl.

See #1. :D Although clearly you can see why he's involved. A man who believes everything can be explained by science...getting drawn into supernatural...unexplainable events.

If this is referencing the little baby, it's a "miracle baby," only survivor of a shipwreck off Patmos, Greece.

No, he's a teenager. Massey met him after school, and seemed to have some sort of fatherly relationship with him. Someone was taking photos of him and sent the photos to Hawks mother with Massey's return address. The mother and Massey know each other--she called him ASAP to say "WTF?"

Thanks for the help. I would have enjoyed the series without it, but this helps fill in the blanks.
