I had no desire to watch this show but was looking for something else on instant streaming and decided to give it a try. I absolutely loved it and my wife loved it even more. It's a guilty pleasure kind of show (reminiscent of Dallas in it's heyday) but if you find yourself willing to put up with a prime time soap you should check out the first season on Netflix.

It's OK. I liked the premise of it being a modern retelling of the Count of Monte Cristo. However, at least in this season, the writing twists itself into a pretzel in order to get it to fit the constant plot twists. Most of the plot is impossible the way they pull it off. It's reminding me of True Blood who did the same thing with a strong first season, a decent 2nd season, but the 3rd season and beyond became so convoluted that the writers would contradict themselves in their plot lines or waste time on plot points then drop them all together with no explanation(see Jason and the ware panthers).

I just started watching the second season on Hulu Plus tonight so I'm not familiar with the problems you mention but I wouldn't be shocked to discover the show no longer working for me. I'm not too fond of prime time soap operas but the few that I have watched only held my interest for a season or two. I'm hoping this one will be an exception but I won't know for awhile. Still, I very much enjoyed the first season and the first 3 episodes of season 2.

don't get me wrong, it's a decent show it's just that it seems as though the writers got trapped in the storyline and are now trying to make up for it by trying to tie up loose ends.

Started watching this on Netflix with my wife this weekend. The first few episodes have been pretty good, we are really enjoying it.

But we are wondering how they get 3 years of episodes out of this, seems like most of the objects of the revenge would be killed off in about 7 episodes.

They solve this problem. But IMO they ruin the show when they go away from their first season format, maybe it will work for you. We loved the first season but we gave up on the show many episodes ago.

The wife is still in love with this show. Please correct me but she still has not taken everyone out from the photo yet correct that had a part?

Anybody? I don't recall that being the case but I am not sure.

Now that a certain person (I won't spoil) is in this season, it appears there is something bigger at play which will occupy her time.

I think the photo is long forgotten because her 2 main protagonists...

Aren't taken out by Amanda/Emily. Sure she gets Victoria committed(until she breaks out in the silliest way imaginable) but the big gun she had nothing to do with. And now, I fear this show is about to go off to deus ex machina land in a bad way. I really don't see the recently resurrected David plotting against his daughter after he sees who Victoria's enemy really is and I don't see him putting the wacked out Charlotte ahead of her either. Not after what Amanda/Emily did for him.
