Far be it from me to ignore what various draft pundits have to say, but more and more, I've been inclined to "go with my eyeballs."

I think the reports I saw were more about the practices than about the games.

Like I said it's only one part of the evaluation. There is so much we don't know about injurys, quality of opponent, the shape the player is in, or maybe they just had a bad day.

I haven't got to see the game and I only saw some of the practices on the NFL Network but I don't remember seeing Johnson in any drills so I can only go by what I've read.

What affect might it have on some of these guys going to the Senior bowl, practicing and playing in a different "system" than they're used to along side guys they aren't used to? Especially offensive lineman? We talk so much about keeping the OL in tact, don't move this guy here or that guy there, let the guys gel, etc. Still seems like there is no substitute for game tape....

I did see all of the practices and I didnt like what a saw. He was by far the slowest and least agile OL in the practices. His kick back step was borderline horrible, which means I am not sure if he can play OT. Came away thinking he would get abused by pass rushers and he did during the practices. Here comes the "but" though. That was Herman Johnson at at close to 400 pounds, coaches may see a different story at his current 382, and an even different story at 340-355 (where I think coaches would like to get him at considering Grimm said that he is a guy that will never be below 340). I have a feeling they are trying him out at OT becuase he has the first tool that 9 out of 10 great OT's have and that tool is long arms and Johnson had the longest arms out of any OL in the draft at over 36 inches. So I think thats why they are trying him out at that spot first before making the possible switch to OG later.

As for Cody Brown I remember him looking stronger then I though a 245 pound rush end would be, because he actually used a couple of bull rush moves effectively during one on one drills. But he didnt have any inside moves at all. The only two moves he had was the outside dip and under, and the bull rush.
