Isn't Sinatra Danny Ocean? Wouldn't that mean Whiz' face should be on Sinatra's body?

I was fighting with face angles... give me a break... :D

and the way Matt came out just cracks me up...

also, sorry DCR :( not intentional

So, you have a signature yourself, but you have them turned off. Interesting.

Yes. Odd huh? It's also why it took me a second to catch onto you and Shane poking fun at my signature.

I turned it off a while ago but I still update my signature...I guess for all those signature-watchers out there.

Hello. ASFN?

We've got to bide the time somehow until you get the rest of the game transcribed.

I hear ya. I was so upset with myself after losing what I had done. I'll finish the game tonight.

Continuing on from last night. Warner is now in the game.

1st down. Johnson blocks to the right, helping out Lutui. This lets the LB into the backfield untouched. Shipp runs to the outside, and makes a great cut to dodge another tackler. Gain of 7. Adequate job here, because this was a designed run to the left and the LB had no chance of getting to Shipp.

2 TE set here with a FB in the backfield. This is a playaction pass that bites the Oakland defense. This put 8 men in the box, and one-on-one coverage on Johnson. He has to get to his knees to catch the ball. If this ball was thrown better, BJ might have scored here. He had plenty of separation on his man. 1st down. The line does a stellar job picking up everyone on the pass action.

Patrick is now in the game, and is in motion to the right. This is a run up the middle that pretty much goes no where. Everyone got their helmet on someone else. but no one got a push to create a running lane for Shipp. He turns a 2 yard loss into a 1 yard gain. Another tough play to call, but I'll call it a draw, as there was not any obvious missed blocks.

Morey comes in the game for Patrick. Castille goes in motion to the right, and comes back left. There are 8 in the box, with one showing blitz. This is a designed pass. Bienemann blocks down, as we have seen all night long. This leaves a rusher free for Castille to block. He gets enough of a block on him to give Warner time to pass. The rest of the line does a super job, including Ross on an island. Johnson came over to help, but none was needed. Johnson completes the pass to Johnson who breaks one tackle and the safety makes a bad play on the ball. Touchdown. This was a great overall series for the line with no missed blocks or assignments.

Warner is also done for the night. as well as the 1st team offensive line. I will make a comment about Levi on every play that I review, because I know people want to hear how he is doing.

The offense gets the ball back after a 3 and out and a 64 yard punt.

The offense is now in a 4 WR set. Because of the 4WR set, there are only 4 down lineman and the LB's are playing back a bit. This is a draw play. Both Levi and Brian Johnson become on an island on the right side of their man, and hold them down completely. Nick Leckey and Elton Brown double team their man and push him 5 yards off of the line. Brandon Gorin was also on an island, and forced him to the outside taking him completely out of the play. This is a good job for the line and the play gains 5 for Arrington.

2nd & 5. This is the exact same formation that Warner/Johnson connected for the TD, down to Castille in motion. This time it is a toss left to Arrington. and the DT is able to put a hand on the back of Boyd at the time of the toss. Brandon Gorin blocks his man 5 yards down the field. Because of the designed toss to the left, Levi lets his man down the field, and looks to block someone. Same with Nick Leckey. Levi connects with the OLB and his feet leave the air. He regains his balance but is 10 yards away from the play now. It looks like Gorin gets away with a block in the back. JJ makes a pretty good move and gains 2. Adequate job here as well.

*3rd % 2. There is a bunch formation to the left hand side. Leckey gets beat pretty badly here, forcing Boyd to step up a bit to give himself more time. Levi is again on an island and completely locks his man down. Boyd was locked on to his receiver, and those an INT that is taken back for a TD. Johnson was called for a offensive pass interference call, but he wasn't around the pass, or a defender for that matter. The refs may have gotten that one wrong. Bad, as Leckey got beat pretty badly here.

*Boyd gives it another go, and you can imagne after a INT comes a run. It looks like the CB comes free on a CB blitz. Everyone has a hat on someone, but because of the down blocking that we have been running all night, and the CB coming free on the left side, Shipp had no place to go. Levi and Johnson team up to push their man 5 yards off the LOS. Below average as there is no where for Shipp to go.

* 2nd & 8. The bunch formation is back, but with this time Patrick in motion. Elton Brown pulls to the right, and jumps through the would be hole. However, Leckey gets beat again, and Shipp is forced to make a move in the backfield to prevent a loss on the play. He runs into the wall that Levi/Brown creates, and bounces back for a gain of 5. Leckey getting beat again makes this bad.

*3rd & 3. They are in a 3 WR set, with Morey in motion. and Boyd in the shotgun. 4 man front with two man blitzing, one late. Guess who gets beat again, Leckey. Levi is out on an island and does another good job. Because Leckey is beat, Boyd throw the ball early, high, and putting Bienemann's life in danger. Bad, as Leckey gets beat for the 2nd play in a row.

The Raiders eat up the clock completing 3rd down after 3rd down. They score another TD on a jumpball to Williams.

There is only 22 seconds left in the half. We are in a 4 down set, on an obvious passing down. The Raiders only bring 4. Boyd completes a pass to Johnson on a 3 step drop. The left side of the line does a good job here, giving him a line to throw to. Noting to say about Levi here. Adequate. The line does it's job, but it is hard for the line to mess up on a 3 step drop.

1st down, same formation. Both tackles are on an island here. Gorin's man got a better push off of the ball, causing Boyd to step up in the pocket. Gorin still did his job though. Boyd now has plenty of time to throw, but decides to run. Gains 9. The line gets a good rating here.

2nd & 1 with 8 seconds left. Only 3 rush this time. Boyd obviously has time to throw, as he gets rid of the ball in a second. With only 4 seconds left, Rackers kicks a great 60 yarder to end the half.

Tally for the half.

11 missed or blown blocking assignments.
6 average plays.
10 plays where the line did a great job.
1 false start penalty

50% acceptable, 50% unacceptable... Blocking at a .500 pace will not get it done... Let's hope for some improvements...

The Cards get the ball after the half on a 3 and out including a false start caused by, and a sack by Cooper.

- 2TE 2RB 1 TE set. It looks like This was a quick 3 step drop to Leron McCoy that was a little underthrown. Unless a lineman got beat really bad here, they wouldn't have messed this play up. Levi was on a small island again, and swallows his man. He has been on an island about 5 times, and has passed with flying colors everytime so far.

+ 2nd & 1. Same set, but both WR's on the right. This is a run up the middle. The line did a great job here, with Elton Brown getting to the 2nd level to make a block down the field. Levi was solid again blocking by himself. Gain of about 6 for JJ. Good job by the line here. Especially Elton Brown

* 1st down. This is a sweep to the left. Whoever was on the left end (I believe it was Tim Euhus) decides to cut block and misses badly. This left Arrington with no where to go, and 3 defenders coming after him. Bad play on the missed cut block.

+ 2nd & 14. This is the bunch formation to the right hand side. Boyd go out on a play action pass. He has all the time in the world as Levi again does a hell of a job on an island as well as the rest of the line. The play is completeed for about 10 yards. Another good play action pass for the line.

+ 3rd & 4. A 3 WR set with Spurlock in motion. This is a 3 step drop on a out pattern to Merritt. The Raiders blitz one up the middle of the field, and everyone had a hat on a hat and gave Boyd the little time he needed to complete the pass. Good job by the line here. First down.

*We in the redzone on the 12 yard line. Before the Camera had a chance to get to the play there is a whistle blown. False start 72. (Brandon Gorin)

+ Here the Cards are in the Splitback 2WR set. The Raiders only rush 4, but the line does what it needs to do. Levi again contains his man, and pushes him off of the line of scrimmage enough to create a passing lane for Boyd. A little hitch route to JJ, and he gains some YAC to gain 9. Good job for the line here.

+2rd & 6 from the 9. After a timeout is called by Boyd, JJ goes in motion from the backfield. The line protection is good here, but Boyd throws a bad pass to Patrick who never even turned around for the ball. This was a timing route and someone got it wrong. Levi again on and island, and again does his job handily. The line did a good job here as well.

+ 3rd down now on a 4 WR set with Boyd in the shotgun. Boyd takes off really early, when he could have stepped up, because both of the tackles gave him a pocket to work with. He decides to keep the ball, and does the rest with a couple of downfield blocks helping. Touchdown Cards. The line did a great job here.

The Cards give the ball back after Culpepper fumbles his first play from the scrimmage.

+ A 2TE 2WR set here to start on the 18 yard line. Spurlock goes in motion to the right. Between Levi, Patrick, and Spurlock in motion, there is a huge, HUGE hole for JJ to run through. He decides to dance around though instead of making a hard run up the right side. He does get 5 yards, but if he would have made a quick move, instead of a finesse move, he might have scored. He only had to beat one man all by himself. The line gets another +1 here as there was a huge hole for JJ to run on.

- 2nd down here. The Raiders bring a blitz up the middle. Sendlein not only gets beat, but the MLB has a full speed sprint to the QB, barely touched. Boyd does whatever can he can do to not get sacked, including throwing the ball to the ground near the line of scrimmage. The INT for TD was reviewed and overturned. Not a good start for Sendlein as he nearly cost the team dearly.

- 3rd down. A 3WR 2 RB set. Boyd holds on to the ball a bit too long. Levi should have gotten called for a holding call, but gives up a sack here. This really was a coverage sack, but it was Levi's man that gets the credit. Coverage sack or not, the line gives up the sack, minus the bad play Another FG for Rackers and the game is 20-21.

Tally through this point.

13 missed or blown blocking assignments.
7 average plays.
18 plays where the line did a great job.
2 false start penalties

The Cards get the ball back after a 3 and out by Culpeper and the Raiders.

+ The Raiders only rush 4. 3WR 1 TE set. Play action pass. I don't know it was intentional or not, but Gorin's man tripped him after getting leveled to the ground by him. He gets back up and just levels the QB. McCoy drops a sure touchdown pass. I have seen this call go either way. The line did a good job, eventhough Boyd got leveled. Roughing the passer was the call.

- The next play is a draw on a 3WR 1TE 1RB set. Sendlein again gets beat badly falling to the ground. The DT easily gets in the backfield and forces the play to the other players on defense. Another missed block by Senedlein.

+ This is a run to the left hand side to JJ and he has room to run. The left side of the line creates a lane for JJ to run through and he picks up 8 yards. Good job by the line.

* 3rd & 2 now. Boyd burns another timeout. This is a toss sweep to the right with Boyd in the shotgun. Levi pulls here, and gets about 3 yards past the LOS. There are 3 Raiders around, but he really doesn't make much contact. He does just enough for JJ to sneak through a hole for a 1st down. Average play, but good to see Levi moving well.

- 1st and 10 from the 15. Senedlin again gets absolutely toasted. He fall to the ground, and his man was metting JJ in the backfield right after Boyd handed the ball off to him. JJ managed to stumble forward for a yard or so. Our backup Center play has been absolutely TERRIBLE tonight.

+ 2nd and 8. 3 WR 1 TE set, with 5 Raiders on the line. This was a quick 3 step drop that the line does its job. The line did a great job here, and Boyd had plenty of time to get the ball off. The ball drops through Patricks hands a couple yards shy of the 1st. Good job here by the line.

- 3rd and 8 now. same formation. Raiders show the blitz, but back off. Both Levi and Brian Johnson gets beat badly here, and Boyd is able to scramble here. The face mask call helps "mask" the line bad play here. Bad.

*3rd & 3. Offsetting penalties, including Gorin being lined up at the end of the LOS. That penalty officially goes on him, but is not his fault. After the reset, the Raiders show blitz again, but only rush 4. The pocket closes in a hurry, and Boyd needs to get rid of the ball. The safety jumps on the route, smacking the ball away. Tough to call, but I'm going with average here. Another FG.

3nd of 3rd Q.

The Cards get the ball back on the 40 yard line after a turnover on downs.

*Standard set here, as Breaston goes in motion. Run up the middle that gets a couple of yards. No one gets a great push, but there is one made. Gain of 2. Just average here

* Steve Blaylark gets a carry and has to dance around on 2nd. There is no where to run again, even with an extra TE in to block. Gains 2 more yards. Again, average play by the line.

+ 3rd & a short 5. Wis appears to like the bunch formation because they are running it again. Boyd has plenty of time to throw the ball, but throws it pretty badly. The line did a great job though.

The Raiders retake the lead after a FG.

+1st down. 3WR 1TE 1RB set. Boyd steps back for a 5 step timing route drop. The line does a good job here, but the ball is very poorly thrown. The only person that had a play on the ball was the CB. Good job by the line.

+2nd down. Boyd has a clear throwing lane to hit Watkins on the left hand side for 13 yards. Another good job by the line First down.

* 1st down. offsides penalty. A standard set, and Boyd throws a quick WR screen. The ball is thrown poorly and at the feet of Watkins. N/A here

* 2nd down, a standard set, and they fake the end around to Breaston and run it up the middle with Baylark. Another average job by the line here. Nothing stands out. Gain of 2.

3rd & 3. False start on Levi Brown. Obviously bad.

-3rd and 8 Raiders bring 5, but on a delayed blitz. Because it is delayed, absolutely no one picks him up and Boyd is blasted. He somehow stays on his feet, and gets sacked. You blame this on the center Seidlein again, because he needs to call out the blocking assignments

I don't remember if we get the ball after this, but I don't think we do. There is only 4 minutes left in the game at this point. My DVR missed the last 4 minutes of the game.

Game tally:

17 missed or blown blocking assignments.
13 average plays or plays where the line play doesn't really affect the play.
24 plays where the line did a great job.
3 false start penalties

He got called for the false start, and got beat a couple of times, but overall, I'd say his game was good. He started out very, very solid.

Just a quick question about Reggie Wells. Was he getting pushed around as much as first thought when watching the game?

Overall, no. If someone was beat badly, you would have heard it from me. He had an average game. Leckey/Seidlein easily had the worst games of all of the linemen.

Great Job!
Sounds like Elton Brown will force the coaching staff to consider more playing time for him.

I haven't noticed if you mentioned Al Johnson. Did you? Sorry if you did, but he is adequate? Is that the guys name, the guy from Dallas?
