I am not a professional operating in the field of human behavior analysis, but I would guess Sherman is extremely insecure. Constantly feels a need to lash out at anyone he interacts with, trying to elevate his own sense of self worth.
If your not sure he is better than everyone else, just ask him.

How's that for an amateur?

I'll buy it.

Let jackasses be jackasses?

Pretty much.

There's no way to prevent them from acting like this, nor is it preventable to have the media report upon their activities in the Twittersphere.

I just choose to ignore it (for the most part) and try to keep my focus on the play on the field...from a fan's perspective at least.

I'm sure the NFL loves this sort of banter, as it helps with their push to make the NFL a "year round" thing.

Prediction: Andre Johnson, New England Patriot.

If it were me, I would trade him to the worst team possible.

Sherman is an insecure dude. Also, I wish PP would knock it off withe the public bar setting for his contract; he's starting to get a little Dansbyish.

I am on the fence with this one.

Has Peterson ever brought the topic up on his own ? I have seen some tweets from him, but mostly he is answering a question asked of him by someone in the media when he ends up talking contract.

Kind of a catch-22 if you ask me. He gets asked a question that he would get in trouble for not answering, yet gets in trouble for answering.

But again, I am not 100% sure in my opinion.

Public discourse on contracts creats schisms between players and Front Offices. The more people learn about other's contracts, the more it inflates another player's self perceived value, even though it may or may not reflect reality. It's a nightmare.

I'm not against answering question from reporters per se, but I don't believe you need to say much more than, "My agent handles that; I play football."

What is worrying me is the comments about how he'd like to thank Sherman for making him more money and unsolicited tweets like, "45!!!!" I understand the elation one must feel when expecting a Lotteryesque payday, but this type of approach leads to hurt feelings when they shouldn't be there, IMO.

I also don't care for Peterson's remarks. Why does he have to set this up like if he doesn't get a contract better than Sherman, there's a problem. Probably a negotiating tactic, but this stuff gets real old.

Especially if it is part of a Ryan Mallet deal. This makes so much sense to me.

I do like the Patriots as my AFC team.

I am uncomfortable with Tweeter's opinions. It seems like juvie speak. I leave Tweeting to adolescent girls. The damage done Via Tweeting is huge.

Peterson has been a model citizen and is a heck of a corner. If I was fixing

to hit the jackpot I would be excited too. Its not like he is running his mouth

off about Crabtree to Erin Andrews after a game. Peterson deserves to get

paid close to what Sherman got.

He didn't bring it up. He was asked. He gave a pretty normal answer if you ask me.

Steven A. Smith nailed in First Take: you don't make comments like Sherman did and mess with a dude's money. Bad move.
