Louisville absolutely blew the doors off Savannah State tonight, thumping their thoroughly out-manned and over-matched opponent 87-26.

After the game Rick Pitino was asked the inevitable questions about running up the score. Pitino insisted it was not his intention to humiliate Savannah State. On the contrary, Pitino says he did everything to avoid running it up.

He even took out all his good (black) players and put in a bunch of scrubs…4 white guys and an Egyptian.

Dumbest rock in the bag.

Ha! I get what he was trying to say, but I don't think he meant it the way it came out. Hate how people get all pissed off when a team keeps scoring. It's early in the season and players want to play. Why penalize a team and coach because they are good and the other team is not??? Never understood that in sports. Sometimes teams can't miss shots, break tackles for long TD's, get tons of hits/runs, etc.. I know I am not letting up just because the score is lopsided.

I hope it does. Racial commentary is a 2 way street. He thinks he is being cute at the expense of civility. He could have easily said "I emptied my bench".
