Another blunder by the Cardinals. Butz went on to have a good career elsewhere. Valuable member of Redskin D. Rest In Peace Dave Butz.

I'm old enough to remember watching him play live in college.

Dave Butz was a phenomenal DT, who was instrumental in the Redskins winning 2 SB’s during his time there. He was a 1st round draft pick of the St. Louis Cardinals and only played 2 years for us. He was able to escape the Cardinal organization because of an ERROR in his original contract. So, those of you that think you’re living in the worst of times as a Cardinal fan, you forget just how inept Bill Bidwill was as an owner. Can you imagine just how good our D could have been during the Coryell years if WE had Butz instead of our rival Redskins!!! He was exactly what this team needed at the time.

Didn't watch him in college but I remember him with the Redskins. Very solid defensive lineman.
