Disagree with that. Midnight Cowboy, Philadelphia, My Own Private Idaho, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Dog Day Afternoon, The Birdcage, In & Out, Gods and Monsters, I Love You Philip Morris, Milk, A Single Man, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Longtime Companion, Torch Song Trilogy, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar, Jeffrey, Parting Glances, Velvet Goldmine, Love! Valour! Compassion!, The Sum of Us, The Broken Hearts Club, and many more. Those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Probably missing some other obvious ones.

I think her point was that most homophobes, when given the choice, will watch a movie like black swan and say; "Oh hey now, we got two chicks doing the nasty, this is hot!"

Where as the same homophobe will possibly see a movie like the ones you listed where two guys get it on and say; "Oh jeez, GROSS!!! Give me a break I'm so tired of Hollywood trying to force me to accept the gay lifestyle! Give it a rest!"

I think we are at an interesting time in our society regarding homosexuality. From my own perspective and observations (so flame on, friends), most homosexual situations IMHO (and I'm not talking about porn) over the past 20 years in movies involve two women. I'd like to do a content analysis on homosexual movie situations, and THEN do some research on how people receive those movies. I would venture that most people (male and female) would be more accepting on girl-on-girl action.

I despise the term homophobe. Especially when put into a context I can relate to. I have no issues with watching 2 women get down because I like women getting down. If its just a show about gay women in general, im not really interested. I think those two things are very different.

But at the same time, I have no interest in a movie about two gay cowboys or watching two dudes get down.

Doesnt mean I have some type of phobia.

So while I can agree with this premise - its natural. Of course straight men want to watch women do it and dont want to see men do it.

But then it is treated like I am supposed to enjoy men doing it? Or enjoy movies about men falling in love with each other? it doesnt interest me at all, neither does the notebook or moulon rouge or anything on the lifetime channel.

I dont see anything wrong with that.

I dont condemn it in any way I just want nothing to do with it.

I think you misunderstood me. I wasnt' saying anyone put off by two guys getting it on IS a homophobe. I was speaking more specifically about people who are bigoted against gays anyway, maybe that would have been a better choice of word.

What I'm saying is, some guy who hates gays and uses the slurs (applying them to gays) and who says gays make them sick and it's disgusting and they hate them, will literally walk out of a movie theater or turn the channel if any kind of gay scene appears in a movie, but that same dude will be all "Yeehaw" when two hot chicks start making out. I was just talking about the hypocrisy of that type of person, because seriously, I have known and worked with SEVERAL guys who are like that.

So I dont think that applies to you. It's fine that guys making out does nothing for you and you aren't really interested in seeing it, but I dont see you organizing boycotts of a movie just because it has a scene in it.
