RIP. Incredible that Willie Mays and Jerry West would die within one week of each other. Two of the all time iconic players in each of their respective sports. It reminds me of 2016 when Muhammad Ali and Gordie Howe died within a week of each other. It's surreal when coincidences occur like that.

I used to watch those old Home Run Derby replays with him and Mickey Mantle crushing out homers. Willie was an amazing athlete, not just a great baseball player.

Best all around baseball player EVER, at least IMO. When you take into account his 2 years in the military and the 2 years in the Negro Leagues it makes you wonder how many more HRs, hits, stolen bases, etc., etc.
